I haven't seen a topic regarding the "old Medallion" race on The Hub.  Only heard about it from a friend.  Its happening this Sunday.

This is my only DNF so far, so I want to ride it again to tick it off.  Last year was a complete disaster.  I'm just checking fellow Hubber's pulse who is riding?

Jip, also got a score to settle with this race.

It was incredibly hot, and I crawled over the section from the Prison to the finish. Actually stopped a few times to find shade under Road signs, next to the wheels of bakkies at the waterpoints, etc.

Was without doubt my poorest road race last year.

Will be there, riding with a friend so it will be chilled. Will probably help people along the way if im able to. The heat last year was CRAZY.

I am riding as well and this was my 1st ever race last year and I suffered like hell completing the race in 42deg heat with cramps and 4h35 later.

This Sunday I would like to smash it in a sub3 to take revenge for last year :D

This will also be my first road race (doing it on my mtb). Good prep for the Cape Town Cycle Tour.

Route profile does not look too hectic. Is the 2015 route the same as last year?

4km Shorter. Instead of turning left towards the prison, riders go straight towards the R44

Yeah same route as last year but do not under estimate those rolling hills.

Luckily the weather looks decent for this coming weekend as last year it was 40 odd deg's by 10am and the race was eventually stopped on account of the heat
