Got burnt by an old lady on a Pyga this morning coming down -4% grade descent....man I feel violated.

I'm on an Anthem 29er with Stans Arch and 3.30 stock hubs. My bike is fairly light for a full sus due to some upgrades. I weigh just over 80kgs. That's me and my bike in a nutshell...my question is this, why can I not stick with other guys coming down a hill? I believe I'm a good climber I think...but coming down is just embarrassing. Even when guys free next to me on much cheaper entry level bikes they leave me to eat their dust. I've check my brakes for friction, nothing. Only thing I can think of could be either drag or hubs? I understand bigger guys descent faster, but I'm not a small oke like them racing whippets, also aerodynamics I understand....yet I can't understand that an old lady left me behind this morning.....that ****s embarrasing.

Just so you know, old ladies can be fearless on the bike. They have been there, done that, lived a full life, perhaps feel ready to move to the next world.......and when they decide to take a downhill ride to the next world.......there's no way in hell a youngster that wants to stay in this world can beat them.....don't feel too bad about it. But if you do decide to try and keep up, the best way to go faster downhill is to leave them brakes alone...... ;)  :D

Okay so just to make sure I got this right:

1. Don't be a wuss...gooi mielies?

2. Surgically remove a part of your spine to get lower

3. First check if you actually have a spine

4. Shivalry is dead...if you get to the top first GO don't wait for "ladies first"

5. Get a Pyga

i like to think that I can ride a bike fast in any direction.  up, down and even sometimes sideways when its muddy.  but then there are guys that take 6 minutes out of me on a 20 minute enduro course including some ladies...

and yes, I can't even blame my bike because my bike is supposed to be faster than a pyga... (wait, faster than a pyga?  surely thats not possible :)

i'd like to see aero position #1 and aero position #2 play out in slow motion if a rock suddenly appears in the path.  both of those would make for an OTB of note!

6. Buy a good pair of full gloves, knee and elbow protectors, and finally make sure your medical aid status.

(once saw a lady in almost full body armour at "Fun Klippertjie Gaalens" during a Nissan race......and then I found out why.......she just let rip on the rocky downhills)
