No idea Walter, i rode to right next to it, on left side of river and shouted out to hear if by complete fluke it was started as a controlled fire, then chased to the gate to tell them in case they didnt know. It is a completely random place, not aware of any trails or paths leading there- not close to either road so glass seems very unlikely.... Dont know... Doesnt look right.

From where it was, Any idea what could have started it ?

If one of the other trails like Welvenpas or Conti etc goes up soon, then MTB'ers must have upset someone..

Just a thought I had, wasn't there a fire in the Grabouw area as well when Tokai etc was ablaze? Was it also near the MTB trails?

Don't want to start any conspiracy theories, just wondering.

The very people that would have a moody with mountain bikers would also feel the loss of trails. Hikers, joggers, horse riders etc all lose out too.

Could of course be someone with a grudge against squirrels or something.

This is true, squirrels can be shady little buggers...

I hope they sort this out before tomorrow.  If not, we will have problems since once the SE comes over the mountain it will blow the fore towards where most of the other trails are.

Is that little spec near the base of the smoke a helicopter???!!!! OMG!!!

Bloody hell, that gives a totally different perspective to the size of the blaze!

PLs dont let the wind blow pls dont let the wind blow

Doesn't look too bad. But then again I'm don't know what is bad when it comes to feeding a fire..
