Respect to these guys!!

That bike is so long the guys at the back got a different time :-)

One of the guys did Double Ironman earlier in the year which gives you an idea of their ability and sanity....

I wonder if bolt-on speed bumps would work? Bolted on for the year and removed for the race?

How about if the current route was reversed? I suppose you wouldn't want the finish to run down Pooks Hill for a fast left hand turn?

I reckon inflatable bumps might be better. You can deflate them for the race.

When I tried to load ride on Discover app this morning it gave errors. However when I look at my activities, it's there. 5000 points I think. Goal hit for the week.

Presume you are a team Vitality member - if so they get it direct from Racetec results so you also get your cash back

A group was a nightmare.

1st they mix C bunch with us as they lost the A bunch number board.

Then they lead B bunch infront of us so we all had to squeeze through them to the start.

Then of course came 3 crashes. I was in the middle of the 1st got hit by bars and bodies but didn't get 1 scratch so I was very very lucky... Had someones 2 blood spatters on my shirt though. . Never seen bikes and people fly so high in my life before...

Hope those guys are ok????

Playing catchup ended up killing me so I crawled home in a 2:49 compared to the  A winners 2:28 but hey its a sub 3 so I will take it lol...

It is a few hours work to remove the hump and replace it after the race.

I wonder why they don't do it.

Exactly - at the old Waterfall finish straight they took out an entire traffic circle (well, half of it) and re-installed after the event - so a paved speed bump is more than do-able.

Hey guys, anyone know how to query your results? My name doesn't appear on the results at all. just don't know who to contact. Thanks in advance

Edit:  Seems like I found Something on Racetec site will email them

Lol, that was a cockup. I was in group B. They asked us to move to the right side. I moved right onto the pavement, but no one else moved. I guess everyone was worried moving backwards in the group.

I also noted the start pen marker boards were missing. No D group sign, just an empty frame. I saw/heard the A/B/C confusion. We just seemed to gather all together and the herd mentality took over. Can only imagine the chaos on the road further down. We were lucky with no incidents (that I saw anyways)

My results are also not up on the Racetec site. Have sent them a mail with the cxs file off my Polar. Chip was working fine. So waiting to hear back from them

I won't lie, after cramping up from Douglas rd and fighting with all of me to push through the pain up that lion park hill, I found those kids to be super annoying. On any other day I would have felt bad for the poor guys who really have nothing. But when you are in a dark place and being begged by hundreds of them for Choc-o-late , it kinda ruined that but of the ride for me.

I had the same issue in the same spot. I had to sit down for a while to let my legs stop spassiming. They got super annoying and I was not in a good space so was a bit short with them. Feel a bit bad but then I saw them carrying huge packets filled with chocolates, gels and water bottles so got over that quickly.  I think there are going to be some sore tummies around the locations today if they chowing all that.

There were one or two cool ones who came and sat with me further up and chatted while I rubbed my legs I didn't have anything to give those guys.

However my one team mate had her cell phone snatched off her bike while she was battling cramps further back.

I cant think why someone would do that to themselves.

Atleast when you do such a race you would do some training.

I did a sub 3 and I struggled a lot. It is not an easy race.

Some preparation should  surely be done

As somebody else mentioned, that last finisher started in J - it would be interesting to know the story behind the time.

I had the same problem on the MTB race no result, also was told that I should not use cable ties to secure the as it will not work. Thought it was the chip but had it scanned at number collection. They told me that I should not use cable ties again, rather do the ankle strap. With the road bike used cable ties again to secure it to the fork just above the axle, same as per MTB bike and this time around (with cable ties) received a time.

Good luck in dealing with them....
