What is the expected weather to be during the race?

We are starting to wear winter gear here but can I\we get away with summer gear on Sunday?

A SSW breeze means some crosswinds mid-course and a nice tailwind for the last 18km home.

Edit: but it's a gentle wind - not enough to have much of an impact on racing.

May have been asked before...but does anyone have the route profile? I have managed to find one online, uploaded quite some time ago, showing 600 odd meters ascent. I am not sure I can handle the extra 250m...

There was a STRAVA upload on the previous pages (can't find it now  )

I can recall a total ascent of 687mtrs...  so there is another 87mtrs for you  :whistling:  :w00t:

Compact crank and a 11-28 cassette...here we go   LOL

This is one for the mountain goats!

This wasn't on my race list and entered on entry closing date. Been doing some base training for the past 2 months and thought there was 360m of climbing. Oeps. Think this one is going to hurt a little.

As Schnavel mentioned, there aren't any major climbs on the route. The worst bump is going through the township but it's really not too hectic.

The rest are just drags.

Similar amount of climbing to Carnival City race

yea I mean 687 meters over 102 is not even 10%

I doubt you will find any flatter races in gauteng

Only the Sondela and Potch races are flatter

This can only be compared to those doing both the 103Km events, as the CCMNC obviously has longer distances for the Elites and Vets which makes racing JUST THAT LITTLE BIT HARDER
