Anyone here use the Forerunner 15? Dragging the Edge I use for cycling out in my hand when I want to check my heart rate whilst walk running and keeping a general log of time and distance is not so lekka!

Is this good value and what are the biggest drawbacks discovered from actual use?

I use it

Annoying features...

1. only shows hr when recording

2. Pace goal warns you when your current Pace is above or below the goal instead of your overall Pace...stupid..so I don't use that

3. Hr alerts warm when you are not in the zone instead of when you go over that zone...stupid...so you are warned when your heart rate is low..don't use that

Everything else is fantastic.. Easy to read..easy to cycle through the screens...good backlight..reasonable battery life

Very pleased I bought it and didn't have to lug my phone or bike bryton around anymore. I also use it for a daily watch as it's not that big

We do the Saturday morning  Park runs, we cycle to our local run, then do the 5km run. Lots of fun def helps on the bike.

Plus you get 500 vitality points for every run.

check out www.parkrun.co.za for your local run

They are compatible for every single person who wants to run, that is why we were gifted with a malleolus cushion on the forefoot .

not arguing, just wondering if this is really the case.  I understand the whole barefoot running concept and that by altering your running style you can reduce impact etc. which is best learned through barefoot running.

question still remains, if you have the correct technique, does it matter if you use a shoe with cushioning?  I tried to adapt my running style as far possible to strike mid-foot as I think I would running with 5 fingers, but I still run with nicely cushioned asics shoes.

I figures that having both forms of "cushioning" should be better than only relying on your technique?  Would appreciate if you can elobarate.

^ This, the M400 I would peg as a better overall watch. It also does all day activity tracking.

I've got a brand new M400, never used, if anyone's keen on it.

R2500.

(need to get round to posting an ad  )

With the five fingers you strike on the forefoot.

No impact in to the bones and a nice springy take-off .

so given the exact same technique, is there still a benefit of five fingers over cushioned soles?
