Have to say that after my initial fears of the online store being a scam, as I committed to paying for the shoes, Mikka were a great online store and super efficient.

yep, good follow up, and they got stuck in by themselves after the courier company started giving crap. I give Mikka a solid

I'll comment on the shoes when I actually ride in them (so when the rain stops here :cursing:).

They also have the Adidas Terrex Solo which I've read other guys have used as bike shoes with good results.

I like the colourways on those, what would they specifically have been designed for if not riding, some kind of climbing perhaps?

How does the stealth sole last if you put some serious miles in hiking with them?

Super_mil: how was it?

I still need more time rding with those shoes, but some interesting things came to light:

the soles are definitely stiffer than any 5.10 i've previously ridden with. Great for pedalling. But i think the stiffness comes with a price: shoe not bending enough to fill out the pedal's concavity. I say this because it definitely feels like i can reposition my foot ALOT easier with these shoes than the 5.10s. Its so easier to lift and move them around that it 'feels' like the shoe is not as grippy as the 5.10s, despite the sole being made of Stealth rubber.

But that was during climbing, so needed to hold off the curses until the going got rougher in the downward direction. They didn't disappoint. But again, there's a slightly uneasy feeling due to the stiffer sole which is best described as feeling of being disconnected from the pedal.

Maybe its still early days, and the sole needs to work-in abit and become more flexible over time.

Climbing and walking in em is pretty comfy stuff. Nice grip climbing up slopes. They even handle a crash well :P  Had a major OTB ejection coming off a jump. they survived. sweet.

Rode the shoes for the 1st time yesterday, and they felt pretty good. It had been raining most of the weekend so the trails were slick. The shoes still had adequate grip (I was on well used NukeProof - Proton pedals). Like Cap says they do feel quite stiff and I found the forefoot area to feel quite wide, so there is plenty of shoe on pedal. That said I did get some crank rub.

Only had one ride in them so can't make an absolute judgement, but at this point they do feel like a good buy.

Today I did a number or river crossings on the bike. The 510 are great in this environment. After the second crossing my heels were slightly wet. However after about 10 min they were dry. I then tightened up my shoes and for the rest of the day no water entered and at most the top of heel would get wet as well as the shoe but it still dried very quickly.

(yes it is true those awesome colours are only coming out as a ladies shoe)

Do 5-10 make ladies specific shoes? Basically the same shoe as the standard shoe but in different colours and sold as #ladiesonly and to discourage the guys from buying it, with added pink inner soles and a strategic flower placement? [emoji4]

Yes. Like I said, the ones I posted is ladies only ones, so sizes will probably only go to normal ladies sizes. It might (I hope) be a bit narrower too.

Seems like they have fully committed to a ladies range.

Please don't let me GF see this....

Quote from an article on MRB:

"The shoes have been developed in tandem with World Cup downhill racers Tracey Hannah, Emmeline Ragot and Jill Kintner – certainly women who know a thing or two about how to ride fast.

Five Ten claims it has shaped the shoes to fit smaller, narrower feet with extra padding and a thinner forefoot."
