Stage finish

2.5 points per rider if your chosen riders cross the finish line and are classified as a finisher. Today is a HIGH MOUNTAIN stage, with a rating 5/6.

GC Classification

The GC leader (in yellow) gets 0.1 * No. of Riders that finish the stage, i.e. 172 * 0.1 = 17.2. Everyone else gets points based on their time relative to the winning time. The formula to calculate the points is as follows:

 

{(1-(((RiderTime/LeaderTime)-1)*10))*Riders*BETA}, where:

·         RiderTime          Rider’s current overall race time

·         LeaderTime       Current race leader’s overall race time

·         Riders                number of riders completing the stage

·         BETAYellow          0.1

 

 

Young Rider Classification

The White jersey leader gets 0.7 * No. of Riders that finish the stage, i.e. 29 * 0.7 = 20.3. Everyone else gets points based on their time relative to the winning time. The formula to calculate the points is as follows:

·         RiderTime           Rider’s current overall race time

Sprinter’s Classification

One intermediate sprint, with points:

 

·         10.0 – 8.5 – 7.5 – 6.5 – 5.5 – 5.0 – 4.5 – 4.0 – 3.5 – 3.0 – 2.5 – 2.0 –1.5 – 1.0 – 0.5

 

At the finish line, the first 15 finishers score points, with points as follows:

 

·         20 – 17 – 15 – 13 – 11 – 10 – 9 – 8 – 7 – 6 – 5 – 4 – 3 – 2 – 1

 

 

KOM Classification

·         1 x Cat2 climb, so points for the first 4 riders over the climb (5 – 3 – 2 – 1);

·         1 x Cat1 climb, so points for the first 6 riders over the climb (10 – 8 – 6 – 4 – 2 – 1);

·         1 x HC climb, so points for the first 10 riders over the climb (25 – 20 – 16 – 14 – 12 – 10 – 8 – 6 – 4 – 2)

·         1 x Cat1 summit finish, so double points for the first 6 riders over the climb (20 – 16 – 12 – 8 – 4 - 2).

 

 

Most Aggressive

Due to the 5/6 rating for today’s stage, the Most Aggressive rider will score 250 points.

 

 

Team Classification

Points are awarded to the top 4 teams at the end of the stage. Points available are as follows:

 

  • 7 – 4 – 2 – 1        

 

Bonus Points

1 point is awarded if one or more of your riders is wearing one of the category jerseys, i.e. Yellow, White or Green, as well as the Best Team. If a rider wins more than one jersey, the less important jersey is worn by the next rider on the standing (this rider does not qualify to score points).

 

Breakaway

50 points per rider in the break.

1000 points for every rider in the break that finishes ahead of the peloton.

Big points on offer today, and tomorrow, for these stage - considered 5/6 in terms of difficulty.

 

Daily Prize

Today’s prize is awarded to the person that has the KOM category leader in their team. A random draw will be done if more than one person has the rider in their team.

Just as a by the way, something unexpected has occurred in this competition:

 

Serge Pauwels has been in 4 successful breakaways (finished ahead of the peleton), out of 6 total breakaways, which is more than any other rider.

 

So Serge has earned himself 10150 (2000 + 3000 + 4000 + 1150) extra points alone, which are not reflected in the scores in the leaderboard so far.

 

One person has chosen Serge in their team, that is: Immink's team. In fact he chose the whole MTN-Qhubeka team, the only person to do so.

 

Taking into account these multiple (successful and not) breakaway scores to the totals for all teams, moves him into the top 10. Obviously, if Serge is in one more breakaway that stays away (to bag the KOM jersey, for instance), Immink will run away with this competition  :eek:  :thumbup:

Do you think so? You might be right, I'm not sure. Gerald will have to clarify for us. Its not clear in the rules booklet.

I'm just reading it as "At the end of the Tour, how many survived breakaways was the rider in?", but I'm sure Gerald can clarify.

Seems like the breakaway riders are going to be the deciding factor in the fantasy competition

 

Why do they get so many points?

Yes I'm whining because my team is not getting in the break

You will only get 4000 points if you had Serge in your team on each stage that he was in a break. If you brought him in after the second rest day, then the break wins in the second week won't count.
