not the trail itself. Further up where the Bush is thicker

Closer towards the car park or towards the start of the trail ride to Red Hill?

Keen to ride it soon. Hoping the weekend's good weather holds tomorrow as well. Might give it a bash then. Being extra careful of course!

The dodgy area is an old existing footpath that leads up, from behind the newly built blackhill mtb skill park/trail, towards he vey top of blackhill.

It is only about 600m long, but overgrown and secluded, before it pops out on sanparks land that has already been cleared of alien vegetation.

DON'T RIDE this section of trail!

Will follow the tar road down to the start, not the jeep track/foot path.

We have to fight to keep this going. It's a great piece of track that's been built and it shouldn't fall into disuse because of issues like these. Can't CoCT give you guys permission to have the overgrown area cut by ourselves as the user group or allow us to hire people to do so?

Off topic post but can't find the other thread with the discussion on the trail itself. First impressions are lasting impressions they say. Well whoever they are, they happen to be correct. When I walked it last week I thought it would be fast even at low speeds. It's certainly that. Could only do three runs due to being cramped for time but the flow trail is pretty amazing. The builders did a solid job and I look forward to sharpening my skills there in the future despite my spectacular scorpion leaving my knee looking like this. ......post-51480-1438012624,0221.jpg

We really gotta fight for this epic trail ladies and gents!

You can thank Reto and his team for that track... It's an amazing little run. Could do it over and over and over...

As I was riding home I chided myself over and over for not going earlier. Reto and his team did a kick ass job. Only got a small taste of it and am hungry for more! It really is a beaut of a trail.

Everybody got together to talk safety.........

......and guess who didn't attend the meeting........yes, you guessed right, SANParks! You get a black mark Parks! [emoji107] (Hope they have a sick note from their mom. [emoji14]h34r: )

Allan Winde gets a gold star, and he has quite a collection of those already! [emoji106]

It's a SANParks specialty.

So it seems one of the stolen bikes was recovered and two arrests have been made! Dont have anymore info than that at present.

City have confirmed that they will be moving forward with the alien clearing asap.

Good news all round!

Glad everyone is stoked on the track! Tried to cover all ability levels and yet keep it progressive.

More tweeks to come, with some more wooden drops planned.

Once that dodgy top walking path is cleared and safe, we will be extending the track up to the top parking area.

Check out blackhill mtb on facebook if you have not already.

Looking forward to it! You guys did super well with the space available. Love the berms at the top and past the gully drop. It truly is a fun trail and you be justly proud of your work there.

Yip I have joined the Facebook page.
