Planned for the 5th (Saturday) and then again on 24/09.

Beginning of November and then probably a few days in December.

Difficult to fit in between all the events, but then we don't "race" all the events. We might do the reserve and a flatter race in the open groups.

We did SB two weeks ago, tough as hell, wife did two full laps I only managed one FULL lap and another small one thanks to being sick for two weeks before the ride.

Awesome place to ride, and we come through from PTA, pity we did not see a lot of wildlife

Wilro is the 6th :(

That one on the 24th, a long ride on a school day? :)

Rode there on sat for the first time as well, i stay in Henley on klip so easy 16km warm up to karee kloof entrance. Cant believe its taken me this long to go in there.

Found the best part and most fun was being able to descend at speed and use the whole road to get around corners, not having to hug the side for fear of cars.

Did come across this guy on my way there though, was as thick as my arm

Went into the reserve again this morning and had an awesome ride... But what's the deal with riders going the wrong way, how do you go about telling them they going to ruin it for all of us without causing a scene.

It will take one accident for them to say no more... I saw 3 different groups/riders going the wrong way and one guy was just as I came down the steep descent off the plateau with the tight switch backs... The best part about the reserve and one way traffic is being able to cut across the apex of fast corners but it could cause a nasty accident if someone thinks he is above the rules

"Hey guys, its better to go around the correct way around, a bit safer like that".

Tried that but they look at you mumble a few words and carry on as before...

Yip I have tried to tell the guys a few times but maybe they just have a death wish.

Hmmmm then you follow it up with a "Hey, I just said you are going the wrong way knob head!!!" or call his mother something, he will turn around to chase you.... making him go in the right direction... problem solved.

Giving them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they genuinely don't know which direction to ride, and are mumbling such?

Never ridden there, but I think you can take a short cut by going contra-flow? Was it on this section? In which case, maybe they were knackered and had to cut things short for the day? In which case, one would hope that a reasonable "Sorry lads......wrong way.. everyone's safety...." type chat would make them think twice about doing it next time? Sometimes the gentlest comment has the desired effect once it has sunk in later?

Or........!!!!

You have to be a rock not to know which way is which.  :whistling:
