Stretch Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 That's some serious 'keeping it together' stuff you got Stretch... might have to re-anoint you as Sir Pace Master trying to avoid that 15 minute positive split from last year by slowing down my first split ever so slightly.....everything is theoretical at the moment though!
Mudsimus Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 http://www.twooceansmarathon.org.za/news/disciplinary-process-2017-old-mutual-two-oceans-marathon Anyone DQed?
Tubehunter Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 http://www.twooceansmarathon.org.za/news/disciplinary-process-2017-old-mutual-two-oceans-marathon Anyone DQed? Yoh! Now there's a thing eh! I'm safe. Confirmed on racetec...
Hacc Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 One of my club mates got DQ'd because he had a banner with poles at the finish... He dedicated his race to his aunt that passed away. He phoned them afterwards and they reversed it. Why would you get disqualified? Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Jackes Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 http://www.twooceansmarathon.org.za/news/disciplinary-process-2017-old-mutual-two-oceans-marathon Anyone DQed?I see lots of moaning and bitching about earphones. Although the rules was there, beforehand. And they announced it. Same with the littering, people just continued to blatantly throw their water sachets on the ground without any effort to do as instructed As jy nie wil hoor nie moet jy voel..... No need to name and shame, just the totals Hacc 1

Jackes Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 Does the itb straps help? Obviously temporary, but at this stage I need to do what can help me get trough the next 3 weeks and the big day... Andrew Steer Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 If anyone is wanting to do the Pirates 21km training run... just need to register here. R50 donation gets your waterpoints every 4km and some warm soup at the finish - https://goo.gl/forms/RMOx8Xc6J14g10z72 Looks like I might be sitting it out, seem to have strained my hamstring some how, been sore since yesterday for no apparent reason - not willing to risk anything at this stage though, but will see how it feels after a bit of arnica and ice.

Whatever you do though, make sure you are comfy and used to it before Comrades

Whatever you do though, make sure you are comfy and used to it before Comrades Apparently it helps to relief the pressure in that area. Yup, the idea is to start using it now, together with the rehab etc etc.

I already registered but won't be able to go. I will still pay the R50 as it is for a good cause. I once did a trail run in which I was behind a chick whose "music" was so loud I could hear it. I can't understand it.I stopped counting how many people I had to tap on the shoulder at races because of cars coming and they have earphones in.... It is so dangerous... if you need music to run instead of chatting to your running mates, you need to get new running buddies Race Referees need to start enforcing this rule, zero tolerance! I enjoy training with music - at the gym or when I am running alone when training (which rarely happens). If I do run with earphones I only use one so that I am aware of the cars and sounds around me.
