Lexx Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Just a noob kind of question. I have been out of the Comrades thing for a while now. How do we collect our race packs etc. Do they still post you that little card that we must use to collect your goody-bag etc. It has your race no on, id no and at which venue you will collect your stuff.

You print your race confirmation that you received in an email with all the details. It is best to pick up your race pack at Durban as the PMB expo is very small, and not much going on. Picking up your race number and goodie bag goes very quickly, they are very efficient. The expo is massive, I suggest you go on Friday as there are lots of walking and you want to rest the legs on Saturday. (Try and leave the credit card at home  ) Edited May 23, 2017 by Hacc Lexx 1

Just so much easier, and who can resist those overpriced cloths. Stretch 1
Andrew Steer Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Skipped my run yesterday... legs just not feeling great and got a few minor niggles here and there - thinking it's cotton wool time. Will definitely just get in a short easy trot or two for the minds sake, but that will be that. Just over 600kms for the year. Minimal mileage, but still by some distance my best Comrades prep... Good old amateur hour Lexx, Stretch and Barry Stuart 3

Good old amateur hour  I doubt the quality of mine was on the same level as your's Andrew, but thanks for making me feel a bit better about my doing nothing after 800km's since Jan now...  I worried about our kms not being enough, but since this is our first year, I cannot see where we could've fitted in more, especially since the kms we missed was due to niggles etc..   Andrew Steer 1
Barry Stuart Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Anybody else freaked out by how little running they're doing during the taper? I'm following the advice of experienced runners but it really is so hard to escape the psychology (that admittedly I've been warned about) that I SURELY need to be running more than this! Last week was 40km and this week is just 46 Â . Lexx 1

Working from home the next couple of days to stay away from sick people. So no running for me this week, and probably only the 4km trot the day before Comrades for next week.Feeling very frustrated, but I have no other choice.  Happy tapering everyone, stay out of the cold, not worth getting sick now. Andrew Steer, shaper, Lexx and 1 other 4

I've been in two minds about taking some as well. Developed a bit of PND and a sore throat and the doc prescribed me some as a backup just in case. Hopefully I can ride it out.

If you are not feeling better tomorrow, then I would suggest taking it. That will give you enough time before the 4th. Barry Stuart 1
