Ferret69 Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 Well Done Ferret on your awesome Skukuza Time. Sh@t Thats damn fast. Thanks Lexx, Well done on your race too... Sorry about the Calf Niggle.. 93 is still a great run. Man, I love that race... I don't know why but I always seem to run well there... Must be the 1300m of Altitude Drop from Jhb as its not the easiest course or terrain. Lexx 1
Ed-Zulu Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 Do you guys stretch after every run?I do, but I follow the Sage Canaday way of cooling down first and then stretching. I do a light after run stretch (I refer to it school boy stretches), finger flicking, leg pendulums shoulders, light stuff like that. The deep stretching I do about 30 minutes after or sometimes even just before bed time. After long distances (15km's or more per run) I do an after stretch and then again a morning stretch.

Hacc Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 OMW... Check these walker's times at the IAAF World Champs. 50km in 3:33!! And 20 km in 1:18... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk Lexx, _David_ and Stretch 3
Lexx Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 How the hell do they walk that fast for a 21km..... I am doing something terribly wrong on my training. _David_ and Stretch 2
Mudsimus Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Check the slow mo video that Ross Tucker posted on Twitter. Its a joke actually, its not walking at all. At best a very quick shuffle. _David_ 1
Stretch Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Check the slow mo video that Ross Tucker posted on Twitter. Its a joke actually, its not walking at all. At best a very quick shuffle.Slow shuffling sub 4s is still pretty impressive [emoji23] _David_ and Mudsimus 2
Lexx Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Went down with a cold/flu since Friday. Will see how I feel tomorrow, maybe a slow run. My whole house has got the sniffles... Think its the turn of the season, maybe.
Mudsimus Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Slow shuffling sub 4s is still pretty impressive [emoji23]It is, wish I could run sub4s???? It really is impressive,I think the issue is the inconsistency in wich they apply rules. Disqualifying one walker while everyone is in the wrong is just silly.
Andrew Steer Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 OMW... Check these walker's times at the IAAF World Champs. 50km in 3:33!! And 20 km in 1:18... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk Impressive times, but such a ridiculous contrived sport in my view... Barry Stuart 1
Hacc Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 (edited) I won't mind shuffling at 4 min/km. I agree with Andrew, I actually struggled to watch it. Hope everyone had a good training weekend. I got a bit of a calve muscle niggle... Going for a massage tonight. Struggled to run on Saturday and yesterday my legs were non-existent on the bike. Hope you feel better soon Lexx. I am doing my first 21km on Sunday after Comrades... Well, that is going to be interesting, Athrochoice is one tough route... Hoping for muscle memory Edited August 14, 2017 by Hacc Andrew Steer, _David_ and Lexx 3
Andrew Steer Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Heal up Lexx and Hacc Hopefully solved my Trail running shoe need with these:https://www.onedayonly.co.za/wave-hayayte-running-shoes-79568.html?utm_source=OneDayOnly&utm_campaign=99dc0c981a-14_August_201714-08-2017&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_34763bf86d-99dc0c981a-403182621 So cheap it's worth the risk - reviews seem good and my experience with Mizuno has always been great - hopefully that doesn't change with these. Stretch Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Hope everyone had a good training weekend. for the first time in..I dont know how long...I had a bit of pace in my legs this weekend (HR was still up...but I am used to that now!). I am sure if I had slowed down a bit I could have brought the HR down...but it was so much fun getting some 4:20's and 4:30's into the mix Lexx, Hacc, Andrew Steer and 1 other 4
