Khronis Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 and I now lose faith in humanity. Image soon we will have supporters wear for comrades. The real mcCoy is to only trust "limited edition race" race apparel or even worse trust only confirmed BMI assessments. It seems they are out to milk it as much as possible , you even get a range of Comrades Marathon wines.

And yip, if you go to the New Balance Factory shop you will find lots of left over merchandise from the expo at far more sensible pricing.

Andrew Steer Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 And there we go guessing tshirt sizes again next year..... In fact, since we chose our sizes already with entry, I hope they are the same as NB...I've found the Mizuno sizing pretty much the same as NB and general clothing. I'm a large in most things and Mizuno is no different. Got an awesome Mizuno long sleeve top at the OMTOM expo for an absolute steal and the quality is great. Bodes well...
Hacc Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 I have seen lots of supporters (even in my own club) wearing Comrades merchandise.Personally, I feel you have to earn it. Unless it clearly states supporter somewhere. My friends that bailed/didn't finish a specific year also don't wear that year's shirt. I am not to phased about the brand as long as it is cheaper than NB and the quality is better than NB. I feel sad every year when I go to the expo and see at least 80% of the runners that can clearly not afford anything from the official shop. Andrew Steer and Lexx 2
Jackes Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 but they've got a cult following with their shoes I could not get this as yet. An orthotist said I must get myself the wave riders (just like he advises all his clients apparently). I got a pair from my running shop and tried them on the treadmill. I feels like a plank strapped underneath your foot...

Jackes Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Search skills are letting me down... Does anybody use the race number magnets instead of pins through expensive apparel? https://www.sportsmanswarehouse.co.za/product/capestorm-number-magnets/4095 Jewbacca 1

If it is then it is very difficult to use it. I have only used it once. Edited October 5, 2017 by Hacc

Nino Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 (edited) Hey guys and gals, Just got back from an Adidas factory outlet. They having some great deals. Managed to get for men the Supernova Glide Boost 8 for R450 and for women the Kanadia 8 for R250 (not a mis-type) and the Pure Boost Xpose for R700. The shoes were already marked down but if you buy 5 or more items (sale items) you get a further 50% of the total. Not bad going. p.s. Not affiliated to Adidas at all - only affiliated to good prices that don't break the bank Edited October 5, 2017 by Nino
Nino Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Where is this shop?Hi Zatek I am based in Cape Town and there are 4 Adidas Outlet stores. I used the one in Cape Gate. You can google "Adidas Outlet" to find those in your area. Sent from my VKY-L09 using Tapatalk

I got a pair from my running shop and tried them on the treadmill. I feels like a plank strapped underneath your foot... I am so glad I'm not the only one with this experience! I got Wave Sayonaras a year or so ago. I ditched them before they had 150k's on them. My front feet were killing me - exactly that plank sensation. Maybe these were meant for heel strikers or something? But it did not agree with me AT ALL. Yet lots of people rave about Mizuno. Back to the other day's comment - what works for one person does not mean it will work for the person next to him.

It is also compulsary for things like IM and a lot of Ultra trails so worth having. I really don't know how I ever lived without one
