Original is first prize. Some of them however have been pulled through their own arses unfortunately so Motard conversion with USD forks, tracker, Cafe racer, I have no problem with.

What some people from the Bluff are doing to them is criminal though....

Just a pity the oke did not take the time to ensure the seat / tailpiece section is aligned 100% (sorry, my pedantic side taking over)

Otherwise,

The speedblock pattern over the top or the tailpiece itself?

I have seen them where they extend the tailpiece sides to meet up with the tank and these generally look horrid. This one is actually pretty clean.

Are those TYGA titanium expansion pipes?? Probably cost a small fortune if so!!!

Looks to me like the whole tailpiece is slanted to the right, look at where the lock is in relation to the speedblock pattern on the tank.

Those are some seriousle sexy expansion pipes.

One of the better conversions I've seen.

That's a special bike!  Wasn't he going to raffle it off to raise funds for Cam's racing in the US?

Is was up for raffle, unfortunately due to lack of ticket sales Robbie has decided to reimburse all ticket holders. Most have just said keep the money.

Holding thumbs that Cam get a ride next year back in the states.

I sold my restored YPVS which was totally original for R50K about 4 years ago.  The LC is a lot more collectable, and original restored bikes probably go for around R65K to R70K.

That bike while not original is still quite collectable and I no doubt has been rebuilt by some pretty smart mechanics - my guess anything from R60K upwards.....

I stand to be corrected but he has had an offer of 80k that he is considering.

There is a pretty cool Facebook page, South African Motorcycle Racing Petersen Saga. if you on FB.

There is a chat about this bike.

I would say 80k is probably a bit too much for a non-original LC, but given the Petersen history associated with it and where the money will be spent, there's probably a bit of goodwill in there.  Hell, when I was at Yamaha Robbie and I worked a lot together with the race team and he's a brilliant guy.  If I had 80k I would give it to him, and then still tell him he could keep his bike!

BTW this thread has been the one keeping me sane while I haven't been able to work on the DT. But now that I have my garage back, on Saturday this bugger will be started for the first time since I quickly decided to fix the rev-counter in December last year.....
