Correct. Looked at pics the other day when I was about 120 (which was my heaviest) a few years ago and couldn't believe I allowed myself to become so fat. Currently I'm on 95 and probably must go down to about 85 - 87.

I will post before and after pictures once I'm there.

Hehehe

He might've wanted a pic of the steel Ritchey

All the best!!

Enjoying the read.

Agree with the thought that it is about a lifestyle change rather than a focused effort for a focused period which will not be sustainable in the long run.

I had to make peace with the fact that I am heavy (90+) and that is it. I will never be a racing snake, just a heavy guy who enjoys a healthy sustainable lifestyle and really grateful for it.

Good luck with the Ritchey challenge keep us posted.

Yes, keyword is sustainability

Another keyword is preparation

Prepare your special meals

Be ready after training to eat good recovery meals

Alcohol - be prepared to say no to your peers

Good luck!

And so on...

Thanks guys. Will keep you posted on progress. Already had my first healthy lunch, and gave my nice sandwich to someone who enjoyed it more than I would have.....

Disagree. Age is no excuse. Sure it becomes harder to maintain a good weight, but not impossible. I am 46 and weigh less than I did when I was 18.

how do you know its a reasonable goal? Body composition can change a lot in 10 years (I dont know how old you are, but I would think my own goal weight is different in my 20s and 30s).

Asking out of interest - my goal weight should also be 83 according to the population means etc, but I think 87 is more realistic for me these days.

For composition I meant -  I should have added that I had no muscle mass in my 20s, but have so in my 30s. So my ideal weight in 20s was probably less than it is now but I've never been anywhere near it :)

Ill take that as some insperation!!

Good luck Op, I have been struggling too, but mainly due to lack of time to exercise. Need to make a more concerted effort.

Would like to know what route you tend on taking as well.

It's 80% diet and 20% exercise.
