I'm interested in doing an endurance tour. Say a Joburg to Durban or Cape Town ride. I've heard of the Sun City to Table view Charity Tour and I saw an Amashova Tour being advertised on BikeHub - I sent a pm but haven't heard anything.

Are there other tours going? Where should I be looking? Any insights or advice?

An endurance ride to choose?

I can't seem to find information, people to get in touch with about signing up for one.

I think JR is suggesting that you sommer make your own tour.

Get on your bicycle and ride and when you get to the far side of the Karoo, PM him and he will buy you a beer. :whistling:

Or, Google has found a number of tour organisers try "cycle tour south africa

Ah right, sorry JR... good point. A mate of mine's mate did hop on his bike and ride to Venda. Please don't judge me for not being so brave.

Aunty google hasn't really turned up anything, that has caught my eye. I was looking for some personal experience.

Eish! Maybe when I'm big? Looks seriously awesome. I may need a little hand holding...

You doing it?

Not this year or next. My focus is on a certain off road endurance event for the next two years.

I'll get to TransAfrika.

No-one's judging. The best way to do a long endurance ride is, well, to just do one. Google Kevin Davie, he's just done a rather special one.

Oh, and you're capable of any ride you set your mind to. Know that.

If you are keen on dirt roads try this. Fly to Daresalaam and take the coastal road down to Mtwara approximately 40km from the Mozambique border. Hop on the ferry booking a cabin, deck class is a little rough, and about 18 hours later you will be back in Dar. The entire trip takes no more than 10 days.

Amazing trip.
