The expat cyclist Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 what does a solaris frame price?I paid about R5k two years ago. BaGearA 1
droenn Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 A brand new one (new 2015 model) goes for around 11-12K now (499 GBP) I think. Best to try and find a 2nd hand "original" solaris for around 5K (occasionally on the hub). BaGearA 1

Monark Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 that might very well be the coolest bike on this thread... Chro Mo, IH8MUD, Hairy and 2 others 5
paarlmtb Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I heard the brand being pronounced as "cottic" as in psychotic, is this correct or is it "coetic" as cosy? Is the origin of the brand perhaps rooted in the founders first name "Cy"?

The expat cyclist Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Solaris owners: what length stem are you using? I've got 70 mm and its feeling way too long (with 740 mm bars). Thinking to drop back to 50...710mm bars with a 90mm stem. The bar sits almost right over the front axle. This helps me put a little more weight over the front wheel which allows me more grip on the front. It is a preference thing for me.
nick_the_wheelbuilder Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 780mm bars and 90mm stem. I'm 180cm on a Medium frame.
