From an organiser's point of view the wind is good and bad:

 

Good, it splits the groups up

 

Bad: splitting usually occurs when the front of the bunch puts everyone into the gutter which could be to the right of the road.

 

Heidelberg traffic have threatened to stop the race, not the bunch that is caught crossing the line, but the entire event. So expect the commissaires to be a bit more strict for this event. One downside to hosting our event the week after another one that runs through the same town.

Maybe when you guys speak to the marshals, tell them the rule must be enforced.  So if they see a rider on the right hand side, drive up and force them over.  Semi-politely. 

Thus not kakking the poor gutter huggers out too much yet still be firm with regards to keeping left.
