We could have a better look at it today., gets my vote for kit of the Olympics.. I also like their podium wear.. no tracksuit pants, but shorts.[emoji106]

If health was a concern with Jolanda why not pull out when things went bad? Not sure I believe that she's ill. And she's had two poor performances at the XCO world's since turning elite. So I think something else is problematic. As to what exactly I have no idea.

As for Annika, I think Gen raised I good point re fatigue. Can't be top fitness for as long as she was without it coming back to bite her. She needs some time off. Proper R&R. She'll be back though!

She has been suffering with "back problems" for awhile now according to the Swiss press

I think she took took on to much with the Olympic road race as well

I think you're correct re Neff taking on the road race as well. She was never really going to be racing for a medal in that race and it would have made more sense for her to solely concentrate on the XCO. However as the cliche goes, hindsight is 20/20.

Oops no dropper seat post

Just n very large and ugly looking rear cassette......

The most untraditional XCO feature is probably the bike's 68.5 degree head angle. If her bike has the same geometry as the retail model.

I thought I saw Włoszczowska in second using a dropper but the camera operate didn't make it easy to confirm.

She did have dropper on her bike.

My German is terrible but I could kinda figure out what the writer was saying. Sad she's got back problems but so did cricketers Mike Atherton (England) and Michael Clarke (Australia) and they had pretty good careers. Management will have to Jolanda's watchword going forward. Ultimately an athlete gets judged on the big days and so far she's failed but, and it's a huge but, she has the talent to turn it around. Just needs a good team around her to help with the planning. She's can, and will, win World's at some point along with an Olympic medal!
