MTBOnly Posted November 9, 2015 Share Hi There, Purely depends on what type of riding you want to do? If racing marathon etc. then take the Epic, if you are going to embark on more technical rides and enjoy the challenges of a technical trail(difficult rock gardens etc.), then go with the Camber. GLuvsMtb Posted November 9, 2015 Share ... waiting patiently for a tjop to enter and say neither, go for a (insert tjop's bike of choice here)... Louzy, LazyTrailRider, L.T.G and 2 others
Skinnyone Posted November 9, 2015 Share Go for the Camber...much more capable bike, easier to handle in tight stuff... I have the Camber Comp and love it, my first choice was a Stumpjumper tho but they couldn't get stock when I bought my bike... Wouldn't touch an Epic...unless I am aiming for a podium spot in races, which I am not...The Epic is a great bike for its designed purpose which is to be fast and twitchy handling - if you are on a bike after 4 hours and start getting tired then the twitchy handling can start equating to crashes... Amberdrake Posted November 9, 2015 Share Buy the Camber or (insert tjop's bike of choice here). But honestly Camber is a capable bike and the more relaxed ride will do wonders. Either way your choices both good bikes.
GLuvsMtb Posted November 9, 2015 Share ok, in short (comparing the Camber Comp and Epic Comp) bikes:camber:120mm revelation forkcan only hold 1 bottle cage Epic100mm reba forkcan hold 2 bottle cages (1 sml and 1 lrg bottle). both come with 2 x 10 groupo'sneither have a dropper post (all the cambers above the camber comp spec has the command post with either 100mm or 125mm travel on the post, while the epic expert has the command XCP post with 35mm travel).Neither has brain tech (where higher in the range both have brain dampening tech)Both good quality mid-range bikes.Do you mind lugging a camelbak around? nonky Posted November 9, 2015 Share is it a 2015 Camber expert evo (there are no more evo's in 2016, as they're all "evo" now)? BTW, "Evo" indicates a relaxed head tube angle and slightly more sus travel than a regular camber.I would go for the Camber EVO unless you're a real race snake with an saseeding in the 20s...The Camber Evo was widely rated ***** by the overseas bike mags and as, probably, the best trail / all-round bike Spez makes. The main differences in the bikes relates to their sus travel (100mm vs 120mm) and head tube angle - the Evo's angle is a lot more relaxed. The bikes are intended for different purposes - the Epic is a RACE machine, while the Camber is more TRAIL / FUN / singletrack focused. Go test them both, if possible.

funnyman Posted November 9, 2015 Share Hey Rob, essentially camber is a trail bike. Epic is for XC podiums...which you're not interested in....so, go with the camber. Easy to do races with too, climbs well, descends better, especially the EVO's (lotsa fun). Always try get the best frame you can afford, and can upgrade rest at later stage. WrightJnr Posted November 9, 2015 Share I've had an epic. Now on a camber expert Evo. Just done W2W and painful cheeks due to three days of smiling!!! When you get past 3 hours in the saddle, the Camber just makes soooooo much sense. For me it's Camber all the way. nonky, GLuvsMtb and Hairy
