Winter? What Winter?

Clear skies here on the South Island!

13deg and sunny (feels warmer though)

It was 13 degrees in Durban the other day ..

People were walking around in gloves, beanies and had at least 4 jackets on ..

Cant cope when the Mercury drops below 20.

What an epic weekend. This country never ceases to amaze me with it variety.

Within 4 hours drive i can go from lush tropical forest with white or black sand beaches to alpine ski resorts.

And so so beautiful and safe.

To share this weekend with friends made it that much more special. Its a pity not everyone could make it but it was super fun.

Can not wait to get all the update later over coffee :D

Man, moving to NZ has been such a blessing in my life. I am not boasting at all, I just find myself sitting shaking my head thinking about how it all happened (still having to pinch myself a few times) and I honestly never even dreamt for my life to be where it is now (not talking about the physical location on Google maps). Every aspect of my life here has been great; work, home, friends, personal - can't remember ever having all that all together. I am writing this now because my colleague and I made a breakthrough last week with our project and currently I am reading up on current patents our company and other companies own because we will be adding our stuff to one in the next couple of weeks, YES hard to believe - 8 weeks into the job. Far beyond lucky.

Due to my knee I didn't get to go with to the slopes :( I tried a ride on Saturday, 4.8km was what it could do with great amount of pain and effort. But I got to spend some time just outside Auckland again (farm life) which included spotting some of these (taken with my phone through binoculars)... and also went to explore some black sand beaches yesterday. :)

Where were you? Were the lifts open? It's been pretty blusterly lately, and heaps of snow.

I was down the weekend before, looking forward to getting back down there.

Went to whakapapa.

Most of the lower lifts were open.

I definately will be foing back at least twice this season.
