Some guy in his dark coloured Amarok travelling on N1 South yesterday. He has a Pyga and a Silverback on his bike rack. About Menlynn it rains and he is driving innthe righthand lane. Im on a motorcycle in the second lane from the right with an broken down vehicle in the fast lane. The amarok swerves into me without any warning. Luckily i manage to avoid the Amarok. Very scary.

Seeing you own an Amorok and the Pyga you know who you are. You drive like an appy chop.

"You know.... all scooter riders think the road belongs to them. Everyone have to think for them, going out of their way to pass these scooting dimwits. That is why the ThinkBike campaign was started - they can't think for themselves..."

You see what I did now? I drive an Amarok, and I have a Silverback dualie. I am missing the Pyga though... And my Amarok is sandbeige (according to VW, that is the colour).

Only one choppie on here

Are you 100% sure it was a guy? Might be a women driver for all we know...

Hell, for all we know it could have been two dogs in a trenchcoat...

I think that I can count the number of motorcyclists I've seen on the highway driving legally (with a number plate, at less than the speed limit and not lane splitting) could be counted on 1 hand.

Much editing later - just wanted to point out that lane splitting is legal. It's not always clever, but it's not illegal.

Waiting for a thread like this to pop up next:
"Some **** on a motorcycle kept abreast of me, not giving me space, yet saw there was a stationary vehicle in my lane. Being in my Amarok I had to move into his lane to avoid an accident. Noob almost damaged my Pyga (which is worth more than his scooter)!! :cursing: "

The other day I was driving my Beemer with my MTB and my Road bike on the rack. I was in the middle lane (and not flashing my lights at anyone) with another car in the right lane about a car length in front when this lane splitting motorcyclist rides past me. While he's riding past me he gets overtaken by another lane splitting motorcycle! I've also been overtaken by motorcycles whilst driving in the fast lane..... With the motorcycle overtaking on the right.... While the rider is wearing a "think bike" vest.

Hey man. I'm a motorist, Mountain Biker, Occasional Road Cyclist and Motorcyclist. I commute on a motorcycle from time to time.

You seen to be slightly misinformed on the laws around bikes.

Firstly. Lane splitting on a bike is perfectly legal. It's not particularly safe but that's mainly because motorists tend to be more interested in Facebooking, Instagramming and Twattering than actually driving.

Also. Whilst lane splitting, most bikers are aware of the other bikers and allow the bikers that are lane splitting faster than them through. Usually with a kick of the right leg which basically means I've seen you. Take me on the right.

Keep left, Pass right and all that.
