Okay - breaking it down here. Online questionnaires account for 25,000 points between 2 people, and then the screening checks are an additional 29,000 points if you're a bit overweight and 35,000 if you're in the "ideal BMI" category. That means that if you do those int he first 2 weeks, you only need another 36,000 points between 2 people, or 12 "vigorous" exercises of 2 hours or more.

Easy peasy...

I'm the one lagging behind here. LOL> Only on 27,000 points, but then I haven't ridden since early December due to sickness and injury and holiday. Had a few 600 point workouts between the 2 of us, but nothing huge. Having said that, we should be at 90,000 by mid Feb.

Below a picture of how I reached gold in just over a week.

I had some minor assistance from my child - park run, and I sat him through the childrens online assessment.

I have not been to see the dietician or optician, nor did I have to undergo any nasty medical procedures for points.

It helps that I am reasonably healthy and fit (according to them) as I hit all the bonus points in the assessments so far.

I've noticed that Strava only uploads are not reflecting, even with cadence and heart rate, until they are loaded on Garmin Connect.

Hope they sort that. I don't have a Garmin device. :(

I think I know the system fairly well... I think.

I'm missing some of those 25000 points.

  • Non-smoker - 5000 * 2
  • Online Fitness - 1000 * 2
  • Vitality Age - 2000 * 2
  • Mental stuff - 2500 * 2
  • Nutrition Bonus - 1000 * 2

This totals 23000 - where are the other 2000?

Then, if kids are on the policy:

  • Kids Health Review - 2000 per child

Have done all these - plus a few vigorous activities.

Wife is meeting her target each week, so for me it's maximise as much as I can online and then do the rest of the stuff when time is available. No rush to get to gold (again), or am I missing something?

Look at my points above.

Non-smoker goes into a separate category

Assessments:

Online

Online fitness: 1000

Vitality Age: 2000

Mental Stuff: 2500

Fitness

Fitness Assessment: 7500 (max) - 2500 just for the test

The next 4 at the nurse (including the 2500 bonus points for each):

Weight: 3000

Cholesterol: 3000

Glucose: 3000

Blood Pressure: 3000

so Online Stuff + Fitness Assessment (bio) + health assessment (nurse) =

5,500 + 7,500 + 12,000 (This includes 10,000 bonus points) = 25,000 per adult member

This excludes the dietician visit!

thanks, I know the Health checks (screening and fitness test). Will do that when I find the time. It's the online stuff that I'm questioning.

So I did some digging around in the app. To my amazement the last activity that uploaded from Strava was on the 3rd January. I sure hope this isn't another Team Discovery type poorly planned incentives. Not impressed.

The fitness assessment - can I do it at Virgin active?

The screening test - where can one do that? is there a list of 'providers' somewhere?

Yes, but don't worry about it. 2 of them cost R700 or so and give you the same points as 3 2 hour vigorous exercises.

Screening checks - clicks or dischem
