Spread sheet needs some updating for the 2016 splits, there are many different levels of points for exercise with device. 

 

Also bionkentist does not form part of the 30000

Splits have lots of detail (Heart rate, distance etc), so to keep things simple too much detail was omitted.

 

"You can earn a maximum of 30 000 fitness points. The points earned for doing a Vitality Fitness Assessment will contribute towards your overall yearly maximum fitness points."

  • The total annual fitness points limit has been changed to 30 000 points per adult per year (20 000 points for kids) – previous base and bonus points have been combined.
  • Kids will earn the same number of points for physical activity as adults from age six onwards (age 12 for gym).
  • A separate assessment points category has been created, which includes the Vitality Fitness Assessment and Vitality Exercise Consultations. This means that points earned for those assessments will no longer count towards the fitness points category, giving you the opportunity to earn more points for physical activity.

The fitness assessment doc hasn't been updated as the assessment points haven't changed for 2016. I think the new points allocation and how it is now external to the "fitness points" is in the Vitality and Discovery Card Discoverer in the 2016 marketing material.

 

Or you could use me as a source :) I am a broker specialising in discovery, after all. And yes, I do deal with ALL the other companies as well.

Record high Vitality engagement levels on the back of the Vitality Active Rewards launch is impacting member service levels

 

Good day

 

Discovery Vitality members have entered 2016 with great excitement and enthusiasm to get healthy and get rewarded with Vitality. This has resulted in record levels of engagement in our latest benefitsVitality Active Rewards and Vitality Active Rewards with Apple Watch. This has resulted in an unprecedented spike in member queries that we are working hard to address.

 

January typically brings high levels of member queries due to benefit changes and we planned accordingly by increasing staff capacity. However, given the record engagement in our newest benefits, member queries are higher than anticipated and as such many members are not receiving the high service levels they are accustomed to from Discovery as a result of very long call waiting times on the Discovery Vitality call centre.

 

To manage service levels, we are encouraging members to go to our website where we have posted detailed answers for their most common queries. We are also encouraging members to phone only if their query is urgent or complex, so we can better handle these queries.

 

While we have already seen an improvement, our service levels are still unacceptable in our view. Based on our continued efforts, we expect further improvement within the next week. 

 

Over 100 000 members engaged in Vitality Active Rewards

 

To date, over 100 000 Vitality members have activated and engaged with Vitality Active Rewards, which rewards members with a free coffee or smoothie for meeting their weekly fitness goal.

 

The results have exceeded our expectations: Vitality Active Rewards members are exercising 25% more and have earned over 300 000 KAUAI smoothies and vida e caffè coffees. As part of our year end campaign to encourage members to continue to exercise through the festive season, 11 208 teddy bears were gifted to needy children on behalf of members who met their festive season Vitality Active Rewards goals.

 

In addition, thousands of members have taken advantage of Vitality Active Rewards with Apple Watch, which provides them with an Apple Watch that Vitality will fund based on the member achieving their weekly Vitality Active Rewards goals.

 

Your clients may contact you on some of these queries. For that purpose, find the answers attached and refer to the weekly updates which we will be providing in the eDiscoverer.

100,000 members activated, and 300,000 smoothies rewarded would indicate that a fair number are not meeting their targets every week. When did the rewards program start (when they issued the smoothies/coffee rewards)?

 

I only activated my rewards program in October (week of the 17th-23rd), so the further one goes back, the worse the 100,000:300,000 ratio becomes.

I am waiting for people to start selling Vida coupons for R15 a pop on the side....

 

The purchaser gets a 50% discount and the purchaser gets R15.

My strava has stopped syncing since saturday. Did a ride sunday and yesterday thats not pulling through. Have unlinked and relinked strava from disco app.

 

Anyone else with issues?

just did my Health checks now and my cholesterol is high at 6.6 :eek:

I am quite surprised at this, as my diet does not consist of fatty foods, oils, eggs and seafood - [i am vegetarian]

 

So now I need to do a Lipogram test to check wtf is going on.

So now I need to do a Lipogram test to check wtf is going on.

 

my cholesterol also came in very high and I have historically very low cholesterol, so not sure what the deal is with that.

Let's be honest, if not for the vitality you would probably not have bothered to check your cholesterol as you a fitter than 98% of the country's population.

Mine was 6.2  :eek: and has never been above 4.5 before (and I get mine checked twice a year)... so was also shocked at the result ... apart from not getting the bonus points for being below target.

 

Hardly indulged over the Christmas period and have decided to give it a month then go get another cholesterol test done.. if still high then will consider a lipogram as well

Nope its not about the Vitality thing, I check it every 6-12 months, and my last reading was 3.6 early last year.

 

Since then, My diet has greatly improved, my weight has gone down by 15kg. I don't eat oily foods or fried stuff, fast foods maybe once a month. So thats why I am surprised.

No Problems on my account...Have ridden all week and strava recording and linking my rides on Vitality.However my wife's Garmin has been linked but not given her any points for 2 weeks.They are addressing the issue...must say the call in center are a friendly lot.
