Discovery Health - Vitality & Team Vitality plus everything else you need to know

I have been using a Wahoo HR belt with the Polar app. Works perfectly. It's a mission if you need to start and stop by getting to your phone. I just bought a bike GPS so won't be doing that anymore.

How did you manage to link the Wahoo HR belt to the Polar Beat app. The app just reads searching when I wear the belt and try to pair it. The iHealth app, Strava and Wahoo app see it though.

I suspect the latest version of the Polar app on iPhone is blocking 3rd party devices?

I also tried the Wahoo app to iHealth app workout with heart rate but only getting points for steps.

I think I now know why the wahoo is on special at Takealot - it is impossible to link it to Discovery

Note to team vitality members...

I dint received a few of my races cash back... upon querying got this.

"We do apologise for the inconvenience.

There are two events out of the ones you have sent that qualify for cash back:

Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge (95km) and the Telkom 947 Mountain Bike Challenge (55km).

We are experiencing a technical error with receiving the information from the partner, we are working on having this resolved.

Once the issue has been resolved you will receive the cash back.

"

So ... they dont even communicate that people are not getting the cash back.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I called on Tuesday just to get an update on when the payments for the 94.7 and Carnival City races will be expected.

Consultant couldn't trace the races on my profile even though I was allocated points for the races and I logged it via the Vitality Race Events option on the website (even though the original FAQ's stated Discovery will automatically pick up your result via the timing companies and then allocate the Cash Back). I was told to expect feedback within 5 working days.

Got a call last night at 6:15 asking for all the details again so they log the request again. (The consultant thought I was joking when I asked whether she was serious!)

I only received my cash back for the Jock in Dec after going through the whole process (also having logged the race in July already)

I'm glad I opted not to renew my membership for 2017.

On the positive side, at least my Garmin syncing works flawlessly for the rewards

So as it turns out my Wahoo activities don't sync with VAR via GC any longer. It is ridiculous. The workout data is there, it's been done, but because it's not on a supported platform it gets ignored.

Edit: Has anyone managed to get Zwift activities synced and scored?

Worth asking this question again. Or does everyone using Zwift just run a Garmin simultaneously?

Simultaneously run the Garmin. Makes for interesting comparisons on Strava :D

Just had my checkup done as well. All values good except the gut size, time to hit the trails and carrot sticks

Just wondering if anyone is using a H7 Polar belt monitor linked to Polar Beat and using that for Vitality points?

I use it when i go running. have a garmin edge for riding. The polar app is a bit buggy and ahve crashed on me once or twice but otherwise works at is should.

Only thing i hate is it does not show avg HR during a workout.

Just had a call from Team Vitality, after querying the cash back payments process and why it hasn't been paid.

Seems they have a problem (surprised?) with the API, the timing company and their partner operations (whoever that may be). Maybe someone with a bit of tech knowledge can explain in more detail what it means - all I know is that it's not working.

I then asked if it's only a few members, or if it's everyone - the answer was "everyone".

May a quick reply from TV members (on this thread) if you've received cash back for any October/November/December race, i.e. Amashova, 947, CCMNC, etc., will reveal if it is everyone, or a select few.

They say the problem will be problem will be resolved by month-end, and payments in February.

I then asked if any general notification had been sent out - the answer was "not yet". No need to remind them that advising their members that cash back has not happened, may result in less queries on their side - unless they happy to receive a ton of calls every day.

I have also logged a query for the cash back with vitality for 94 and amashova.

Still waiting for my feedback which should be latest Thursday according to their 5 day feedback turn around.

Thanks for the feedback. It sure seems like the cheapest way to get sorted with a HR monitor.

It hasn't worked fine for me. Close the app and try again?

Did that, also deleted the App and reinstall, still does not pair.

Will try the latest iOS as last resort and then probably just get the Polar HR monitor.

3 replies, plus a few others I know of... 100% non-payment.

Would be a little easier to digest if they just admitted there was a problem.

I did not get one automatic payment last year, I had to follow up on every race claim and each time got told the same: "we are having system issues, etc" but then payment was received within a few days (except for my current query). I started to get the feeling that they hang onto the cash till you ask, then quickly process it. If you don't ask, you don't get paid.
