Gauteng has split into 5 regions, namely Northern, Central, East, West and Southern. Not sure if they'll have regional champs or full on GP champs. If I hear anything from Gauteng East I'll share the info.

According to Central Gauteng it will be the weekend of the 16/17 of Jan. Venue tbc

Did they confirm if it is a provincial or regional event?

I haven't received a reply from a few requests to our newly formed Gauteng East committee.

Instead of sending it on behalf of the club, as we're not "officially" registered with them, I will send communication in my personal capacity and see if I get any response.

And they wonder why the club hasn't registered... what benefit do we get?

I got this one liner response from Shahad, despite asking him all of the details.

Which tells me that they made decisions without things about the details/implications.

I bet you they will probably default to the Gauteng North/Central Gauteng format for the 2016 Champs - way too late to start anything else that will yield any positive result.

So I think it will be held somewhere close to Pta.

There's supposed to be a GEC meeting this week or next. Was postponed from October to November. Let's see what happens.

I really despair at the powers that be.  How difficult is it to organise and advertise an annual event?  No wonder that they end up with such small fields.  Even for nationals the dates and venue were only advertised last week.  I for one will not attend provincials to be "bulked up" with multiple start groups.  Rather enjoy the Dischem or Mpumalanga tour.

Relax boys......It is 2 months away!

It is almost ALWAYS on the 15/16/17th of January.  Al provinces try to be on the same weekend date.  Makes is better for lining up with SA champs.

They rotate.  One year Jhb, next Pta, Jhb, Pta.

This year will be Pta.

GNC awards are on Friday.  I'll try and find out from the people there.  They are usually very helpful.

Hey Spinnekop, with the whole of RSA stopped between mid December and early January, it is actually much less time :whistling:   Not to talk about the normal inefficiencies in organising stuff to a good standard!!

But, DANKIE MAN - hope to hear what's cooking on next week.

We'll probably find out all the details the Thursday before the event.  :whistling:

It's like the Gauteng XCO series, it's a joke. All politics.
We had a really good two recent seasons with a healthy series and now it's a barely able event.

KZN, Eastern Cape and Western Cape are really good examples of how to do it. Maybe the Spur and Eliminator school series should take over.
