Our entry was confirmed this morning, so we are in!

It seemed like a great idea a the time, but now I am terrified!

240km in one go! SRSLY?

Yip it was an awesome idea at the time when we entered but now it seems terrifying especially if my longest distance is a 100km. It is going to be a hard ride but there is still hope

Anyone know of Friday night Accommodation?

At this stage most of the accommodation is booked up already, unless you're happy to stay at the koshuis. I'd suggest you phone Baviaans Tourism, they might be able to find something for you, but it's unlikely to be in Willowmore

the only women that can apparently help from the Tourism office is on leave & only back on the 18th, by that time all places will be booked out. I just hope she secured something before she left as I did email her for some help, else it will have to be somewhere in Uniondale.

We ended up staying in Steytlerville last year. I wouldn't recommend being so far away from the start, but we managed and it still beat the koshuis.

I have found something in Baviaans Lodge but it's 47km off road = 90mins, that just the gravel road not sure what the tar distance is.

Just something to consider with the gravel road traveling. Take a bucket and bike cleaning stuff with. Your bikes will be totally covered in fine dust when you arrive in Willowmore. We had this problem (along with many others) and had to wash the bikes at the local petrol station to get them clean for the start last year.

noted, thanks, I had the same unfortunate experience more than once.

We are planning to spend a week in Jeffreys Bay after the race.

To be honest it will be my first time in that part of South Africa.

Is there any nice must "to-do" stuff in that part or surrounding areas ?

Addo Elephant park isn't far from J-Bay if that sort of thing is your scene
