I've got ant+ speed sensors, cadence sensors and power meters on my bikes. Now I've got an iphone 6+ which doesnt support ant+, only BLE.

I have a few options.

1) buy a samsung phone to use for cycling. Added bonus that it plays music, runs strava, etc

2) buy a dedicated cycling computer

3) sell all my ant+ stuff and get BLE sensors

thoughts?

Agreed, get the right tool for the job, garmin has full, range of units from inexpensive to ridiculously expensive, choose the unit that will feed back the data you require, and bob is maried to your aunt...

IIRC the new square minimalist jobbie can accept all the signals? EDIT: Not the power meter. For that you'll need at least the 500, which is a tad more expensive.

The edge 520 bundle is around R6500

for less than half that I can get a second hand samsung S4, which also can show strava live segments and play music through bluetooth earphones

If i want to show strava live segments on an edge 520, I anyways need to carry a phone with me.

im definitely leaning towards buying a phone to use for cycling

Can the phone accept ALL ANT+ signals, Including the power meter & cadence?

You could also look at something like the Wahoo Rflkt+. Retails for 2k on buycycle. Effectively hooks your ant+ sensors to your iphone and mirrors the data from apps.

Works pretty well, only downside is that you have to have your phone with you and because it's using the gps it runns down your phones battery but no too bad, should get about 5hours. Or you can just buy an ant+ dongle for your iphone.

EDIT: I have the normal rflkt and use BLE sensors, but apparently that's what the + does.

Only issue I have with phone is mounting options as well as durability and waterproofness (new word)

I was very resistant to dropping cash on a garmin, tried the phone for data logging, and it was mostly successfull.

Splashed on a garmin a while ago, and I am not sorry I did. Even for my diminutive needs, it really was worth the bucks.

very good option, yes...

If fands is looking for live segments, though, seems the phone is the best option, with a proper case.
