72.9kg this morning.

I reckon I should just sleep this entire weekend to avoid any cravings. No watermelon left.

I still have 3kgs to go before I'm not considered obese

As I've said before - BMI is shaite. It's a totally backwards way of calculating your body's structure, and does not take composition into account at all. Forget about BMI.

Me - I'm now down to 107. Gym yesterday and this morning, but I have had to cut it short 'cos I'm still recovering from flu and the ribs are in PAIN. Intercostal muscles can get fkd.

Diet has been put into gear PROPERLY, and the results are showing.

It's going to be a good month.

although I have not entered this, I have been doing my own challenge.

Reading the other topic about cycling for losing weight, I have to say that it works wonders when combined with a good diet.

Just for reference, between Xmas and Nyears, my weight went to 96kg. It was all the awesome food and beer that caused this and got stuck to my body. From 2nd Jan to now, I rode 194km, ate almost 800cal less than my daily allowed as per MFP and on average through exercise I burnt 1000cal a day. To add I also ran 12km in this time.

This morning my weight was down to 91.5. My goal is to get to 85 before the CTCT, looks achievable with the way its going now.

While I agree to an extent, there's a lot of fat still left on my body, most noticeable in the mooblies area. I'm hoping that's the last 3kg (according to my BMI) I need to shed as it's been bugging me for the better part of 18 years

What I've found to work really well is intermittent fasting. If I want to drop a lot of weight, fairly quickly, I make sure my last food consumption is at 8 p.m then a proper cycle in the morning with my next meal only at 5 p.m. The body survives surprisingly well on water only for most of the day and I've trained my body to only get hungry at around 4 p.m

That's what I am doing, I usually have dinner at about 6pm, Morning ride of 90-120mins on just water and then my next meal [a fruit] at about 10am. I start getting really hungry around this time so cannot push it anymore.

I had a dud weigh in this morning- 72.8

I'm suspecting I'll end somewhere around there to 73 on Monday if I can behave. Weekends are always the most difficult

Seeing as the entry requirement was to be above 90 kg, you must be well in the lead.. :whistling:  :whistling:  :whistling:

I did ask permission to enter, but I am only taking part for personal gain

But yes, I am in the lead :D

I'm sure there must be a case to answer against the Chubbyist nature of this competition.

So I dropped from 86kg from July 2014 to 72kg July 2015 and recently hovering between 72kg and 74kg riding 4-5days a week with a mix of training of 30-50km Mountain Bike or 40-60km Road bike (sometimes up to 120km).

I ride mostly and don't really do anything else for exercise.

Although I lost most of the fat I still have a bit of tube around the mid and just cannot get rid of it. I am however happy at 70-74kg for 179cm tall. I would not mind if the weight was anywhere but the mid.

So the question I have is whether I need to workout the area the fat sits to get rid of it?

I have no fat on my legs typically because they obviously get worked more. So do I need to work my abs and core to get rid of fat sitting there?

Just thought some insight will help everyone here as well as myself.

To all competing here:

    keep up the hard work.

according to some sources, no. Working those areas won't get rid of the fat, it'll only make your abs & core stronger. You need to do overall upper body and strength training, which builds muscle and burns fat. Cycling alone won't make the fat disappear cos you're only working one group of muscles, in a repetitive movement, and working cardiovascularly not anabolically (from my limited understanding)

Well, at least that's the bodybuilding world talking. Build muscle to burn fat. Makes sense.

Check out sixpack shortcuts on youtube. That's the plan I'm following at the moment. Weights and intense cardio.

Wait - I'll send it to you.
