Is there an unwritten code among the "alleged" dopers that they must all just lie? Why lie knowing that your test results are going to expose you anyway? What's wrong with just saying: "OK I was doping - I got bust, I admit it, don't bother with the tests. What's my punishment?" At least that way you are only a cheat (if "only a cheat" is ok?) and not a cheat and a liar! What does he say to his family and friends who believed him?

To be fair, that is what David George did. Didn't win him an inch of sympathy from thehub mob. You might as well play innocent victim till the end.

Legalise doping in all sport and tax the suppliers :whistling:

Legalize all dope in sport and watch the 100m sprint in 3 seconds, double the Tour de France distance and watch them do it in just 4 days,

I hear you, however, what he did not do, was to give up information on who supplied his EPO, who helped him with the dosages, who taught him how to inject it, who monitored it? I get it that he didn't want to rat others out, but the only way to stop doping is by catching, exposing and prosecuting the suppliers! Be they medical people, coaches, drug dealers, gym bunnies! Catching the users and banning them for life is only half of what is needed, finding and addressing the supply side is the other.

How stupid do you need to be to still try and dope your way to the top?

It's a long way to the top if you don't wanna rock and roll. Believe me, the pace at the front of a mountain bike race requires very specific preparation.

To be a top pro you need an army of pharmacists, lawyers, doctors and PR people.

As for why they lie, it's because they always believe in the chance that they can game the system using those lawyers and PR people to muddy waters and find loopholes to exonerate them. The chances of actually testing positive are pretty small if your program is managed professionally by the pharma and medical team.

Pardon me for being judge and jury, but fkit, I'm all for a lifetime ban on this one. Just throw away the key. And the syringes.

I can't look at a caught doper with the same eyes when they come back from their ban.

A week ago there was an article of a local Pro that won a race somewhere, but all I can think of is hey... isn't that the same guy as...

Absolutely. Leopards don't change their spots. Same for Nolan Hoffman and anyone else who's cheated. Thing is, the problem with the sport is how such people are welcomed back with pro contracts and what have you. That's why the problem persists, because it is tolerated rather well.

All you need for any of that is Google, as i posted earlier (but i see it was removed).

Everyone assumes there must be a doctor and a pharmacist involved. All you need is a computer and a debit card. This isn't the Tour de France, not every team as a specific doctor and supplier. Gear is flipping easy to come by, so is instruction on how to use pretty much anything. More often than not, the only person who knows there's doping taking place, is the doper.

Like I said before, those that caught just never seem to spill the beans on the rest.

Who is supplying?

Any doctor advising?

Who else is doping?

Hence the problem persists (not that it will ever go away), it is just the cyclist that gets nailed, but what about the others? #vramaarnet

If the cyclist talks, he is ostracised, never to return again. If the cyclist lies and keeps schtum, he is welcomed back into the fold after his time in the wilderness.

Ask yourself why that is.

The other pros on start line don't call them out?

The only way you sort this problem out is to give a life ban and also to appear in court with fraud charges! There is no other way! These guys just will not listen and they are defrauding the clean riders of results and prize money, its as simple as that.

Just wait for the outrage and calls for life bans from the clean riders....

Oh look, another Tumbleweed just blew through.
