I hope whoever in CSA was responsible for sweeping the needle issue under the carpet will do the honourable thing and quit too. Cycling doesn't need dirty riders or officials

South African officials have a history of getting better jobs when they stuff up, not quitting.

Sorry to quote you twice, but to back up this statement of yours, I pulled this link off the Janssen website - the manufacturers of Eprex - the brand of EPO that Armstrong and his Discovery teammates used.

That PDF is straight off their official website. It gives you a full explanation of what Eprex does, what its side effects are, how you need to dose and administer the injections, etc.

So no need for a doctor or specialist at all - just DIY.

That's not even counting all the steroid websites that give pages and pages of advice for every compound under the sun.

I disagree to a point:

Yes, anyone can get hold of it and yes, anyone can administer it to the point of enhancing your performance.

However...

If you want to administer it, monitor it and get away with it you are probably going to need some sort of medical back up team.

And therein lies the rub:  the guys doing it 'properly' are getting away with it.  The guys doing it themselves are (sometimes) getting caught.

Maybe Rouke had a backup team.  But the fact that he made rookie errors like leaving needles lying around etc strikes me that he was doing this as much on his own as possible

I once received a spam email direct to my companys publicly advertised email address I use for all new sales enquiries.

It's from one of these roid suppliers - a local SA supplier. It's a Gmail account only, plus a 1 page price list of what he has in stock.

I could post his URL here to this thread right now for you all to have a look at. But I'm not sure if it's such a good idea.

Let me know your thoughts. If you say I must post the link I'm happy to do so. But if it's a bad idea, I'm just as happy not to.

Post it. It's Friday. I need some jollies.

I never implied that it makes it right, DJR. Just saying there's no point talking about going after the suppliers because very few people will ever know who their supplier is. All they have is a gmail account, nothing more.

I'm not an IT whiz, but from the little I know about the interwebs, there's no way you can find out who the owner of a gmail account is. Anyone can open one - no personal info required, no proof of address required, etc.

The supplier will know a lot about their customers - their full name, (most likely) company email address, banking details, and so on. But not the other way around.

The supplier will have to provide their banking details  for the doper, paper trail can be followed from there.

I don't want any come-backs against me if I post the link and then I get sued or accused of giving people easy access to gear, receive a warning from Admin or have my Hub account deactivated.

There is no difference from a legal point of view when you post here on the Hub or on Instagram....

Lets be honest here, it is a case of hiding in the Hub.... besides, if he has been found guility of doping, you are allowed to call him a doper :)

Yeah fair enough, fortunately I have not said anything that could be used on here, or of any consequence.

Its been reported that he is was caught doping but I will give it a little while to make sure things stick.

I have a nasty habit of bringing things up when they think its died out a bit.

That reminds me, might need to go bump the Swen thread... :P

Maybe just put the price in here?

I would love to know how much money these guys are throwing at doping?

Anyone know how much of it they need to use?

Are we talking little money or are they spending a lot on this stuff?

And no Im not even remotely interested in it if anyone was thinking that!! Im a mid field type placer and not interested in being near the front.
