I thought i heard luic is going to syndicate ( but it is total speculation, and not to be quoted)

Would love to see Gwin at Commencal funnily enough.

Think it is an underrated bike.

Would those rumours mean a 3 man syndicate team. Perhaps Mr Min looking at retiring soonish........

Nope Peaty is retiring after this season, Greg says he still has a few years. Would love to see Loic on the Syndicate with Greg mentoring a bit..

I dont care much for who rides for which team...cant wait to watch these crazy fools bombing down the mountains again!

Agree, was just so much easier to hope Gwin see his koek  / get a flat / drop a chain(not that it helped) when he was riding for EvilCorp

Hahahahaha! Come on, every sport's gotta have an over-paid, much-hated competitor...

True. Was thinking that maybe he looks to the Travis Pastranas of the world thinking he should be on that level. In terms of exposure, income and as a "brand". One over-paid rider will lead to more exuberant salaries up and down the pits, though.

Would those rumours mean a 3 man syndicate team. Perhaps Mr Min looking at retiring soonish........

As pro and as focused as they are, I don't think he will fit in. I'd be surprised if they signed him. Look at how they handled the team entry issue last year. There's a sense of they race cause they love it, with less of a win at absolutely ANY costs. I like that.

I remember when Red Bull Racing was like that in F1.

Giant....I know the rumors say YT but I don't think their pockets are deep enough.

Let's face it:  compared to Troy, who was turned into complete spesh stormtrooper, right down to his undies i'm sure, he treated them like a frame sponsor. I see it very possible that he could command a higher salary on aggregate if he milks all his other fawning sponsors.

So maybe the higher salary was a dice-roll response to spesh's fawning over him, along the lines of "oh, you say i'm that important, then how's this number sound?".

They blinked and he left. I think Alan Jones was referring to this as being "a total professional". But i was just tinfoiling: its rather more likely Gwin is after top dollar, same way he stiffed Martin Whiteley at the last minute. But gwin seemingly learnt his lesson in terms of PR management, because he sure as hell got out in front of the rumor mill in a sweet hurry, giving his side of things.

Giant as a frame sponsor would be a good fit. Marcello has been riding solo for too long without making bigger progress. Having a faster team mate can do wonders if you don't have an attitude about it. Marcello seems a pretty chilled dude, and I'm sure Giant has a giant bank balance to boot.

According to wikipedia, Giant pulled in $1.8 billion (with a B!) in sales in 2012 already!

edit: i need to learn that taiwan dollar <> US dollar: Bloomberg has as latest figures for Giant,  014 revenue $61.32 bil in TWD ($1.87 bil US). They are more highly geared in 2014, but maybe they making a bigger push. DH is a pinnacle sport, so flying a high flag there could serve as halo products often do: push sales in the lower priced, volume segments.
