I'm trying to confirm availability of food, don't really feel like carrying everything as we're already taking camping gear. We're staying at Algeria, Cederberg Oasis & Houdenbek. I was riding in the Vaal / Grootvlei recently and looked at the sign to Standerton, that had me wondering how could I get from about Heidelberg to R/Bay...I've got family I could visit along this route in the "small" towns. Sure, they the type of family I usually only see at family funerals but maybe the bike can unite us. haha and a close aunty lives in R/Bay....This seems like it could be a good route for me, a newbie in bikepacking/touring...I really want to break my virginity in this regard.
