The entry fee is R3,850.00 for a SOLO rider and R7700.00 per team. Dr Evil aka Leon Evans and Zandile have decided to change the race format in 2016. This has been done with the rider in mind and for the maximum enjoyment of the stunning routes that we have in the area. Please refer to the accommodation tab for guidance on where to stay and riders are welcome to stay at one venue for all three days or to enjoy all that Plett and the Crags have to offer from an accommodation perspective. All venues are within less than 20 kilometres of each other. This entry includes:World class mountain bike routes.Three race venues in very beautiful locations.Full neutral support on route.All land access and permits that are arranged by the event organizers.Premium goody bags with a NEW MERCHANDISE supplier.Deliciously catered dinner at registration in the evening on Wednesday 14th and Breakfast and LUNCH (dinners for your own account) on Thursday 15th, Friday 16th and breakfast on Saturday 17th. You will also receive a bonus small meal at the finish on Saturday 17th September 2016 before you leave the race village.Super water points with food and drinks.Bike wash and lubrication at race village.The option of Karoo to Coast The final day of the Dr Evil Classic will be on Saturday 17th September and the Pennypinchers Lions Karoo to Coast will be A SEPARATE EVENT that takes place on Sunday 18th September 2016. The Pennypinchers Dr Evil Classic riders will be encouraged to ride the Lions Karoo to Coast and there will be shuttles available from Knysna to Uniondale on Saturday 17th September after the FINISH of the Dr Evil Classic. Riders must arrange their own transport but the contact details of reputable service providers will be provided on both event sites. You are encouraged to make all transport plans early to avoid disappointment. Riders who enter the Dr Evil Classic will receive a preferential start in the Lions Karoo to Coast. Go to Event Page
SteveS Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 I see the entry is R3850 for a solo rider!! Can anyone that did the race last year remember what the entry fee was for 2015. I am sure it was way cheaper last year? Is R3850 not a bit steep for a stage race where you have to provide your own accommodation and transport to get to three different starting venues? Really wanted to do this one but not so sure anymore!!

I have supported this race since its inception, sending two teams each year since 2012. Unless they publically state they too like the other races, Sani2C, J2C, Berg n Bush, Swartberg100 and LesothoSky to not allow convicted dopers in, I will not support this race anymore. Pity as its a nice one...

I am curious (did not see the other thread), is this now a condition for any race you want to enter including the Karoo2Coast, 94.7 & Argus or do you only apply this to stage races or only the dr Evil?

Pure Savage Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 That was a lekker day out! Only crashed once and managed to come home in 7th! Only part we hung onto the leaders was the tar climb at the start, felt like home!
