because the original route for the 21st was in the Klein Joostenberg area and there is a sports festival on there for the full weekend - lots of motorist and cyclists dont mix - we tried to incorporate our event into the festival but no-go.

ah ok, good decision.

Morning guys

a quick question. Must I have a full CSA domestic license to be able to race cat2? I'm currently seeded in E on PPA so I dont think I'll be in cat 1 any time soon.

Will a csa membership be suffecient?

Hi, according to the WPCA you must have domestic racing licence for Cat1 and Cat2. CSA membership for Cat3.

This weekends race will combine Cat 2 & 3 for the start but will finish separately

Thanks for the info Frank. League getting a tad bit expensive to start out with.

CAT 2 was really good yesterday.

We averaged 40km/h over the 90km distance which meant it was impossible for a break away to succeed. There was many attempts but they were kept in sight by the group and reeled back at will.

In the 1st half of the race there was lots of breaks but then in the 2nd half of the race the wind started picking up and this made it even more difficult for any breaks.

Sacks circle 4.7km circuit in a industrial area meant we had to cross a set of railway tracks and lots of dirty on the side of the road and some dodgy patches of road. This caused lots of punctures and with 1km to go i also suffered a flat. It was a real pity as I was feeling good for the sprint.

Real awesome event and series and very well run by WPCA. CAT 1 race looked really good and fast but I couldn't hang around afterwards to watch the rest of the race. Not sure what the CAT 1 guys averaged over the 90km race.

CAT 3 was also quite a good race according to my team mate and he has inspired the rest of the team to join us at the next race/s. CAT 3 avg speed was 36km/h over the 70km distance.

WPCA have confirmed that Cat 1 & 2 requires a full racing licence.

So can I enter CAT 3 even if i have a D PPA seeding? I'm not going to winning any races. I've got a CSA membership. I would prefer to ride in CAT 3 just to keep fit during the winter.
