Any reason not to use sunlight liq for bikewash?

I washed my bike last night and realized I am out of my NAM bike wash. I used a few drops of sunlight in the water to wash my bike. The bike came out just as clean and shiny as per my regular bike wash. Surely this is a much cheaper way to wash my bike but I don't want to use it if there are serious reasons not to

Absolutely no reason . Bike wash companies will try tell you there is sodium on it and that will cause an issue. It's actually a pretty decent neutral detergent , safe for your bike and your car.

Hit me a PM if anybody want neutral detergent that will work a dream safely on their bikes, can also do water based degreasers. General dilutions of about 50-1 as opposed to "bike cleaners at about 5-1. Looking at no more Than 40 bucks a litre of concentrate and most often much less than that. Work for a manufacturer of cleaning chemicals. No profit in it for me , so collection will be needed. JHB west rand .

Hahahahahahaha!!!! "Neutral Detergent".......???

Wow bud, you are most certainly wishing for the best..Detergent has loads of soap soda..... very very corrosive.

It might look clean, but I would most certainly caution against washing your bicycle with a detergent soap.

Hey there Jaco,

You need (as a matter of extreme importance) a NON-Corrosive cleaning product bud to protect your frame and components.

ECOLOGIC 3D is a Non-Corrosive and Non-Toxic degreaser that you can dilute at an 1:100 dilution ratio for cleaning your bike, motorbike or motor vehicle.

At that dilution ratio it is not a degreaser but a soap solution at best for all you cleaning needs.

You can clean your cassette and chain at a 1:10 dilution ratio.

We sponsor many cycle events throughout Mpumalanga and Limpopo with our product, as well as well knows cyclists, and I am certain you would love the efficacy of our product.

Please call me on 0766 324 004 or email me on pierre@ecologic.co.za if you need more information: I would be glad to send you a sample of our product to try...

You can view our product on Facebook at Ecologic 3D if you wish.

We have many cycling shops not only using our product to clean their customers´ bikes in their workshops but also sell it to the greater cycling market.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Take car and good luck.

I think some dish-washing liquids include salt as an ingredient (also as required by dishwashers).

More Salt = More Rust

Not only that Shaun, but soap soda is certainly NOT ideal to be washing your bike with...
