What's tougher TDF or cape epic?

Tough question..........wheelsucking for 3 weeks then working hard the last 20km or wheelsucking and killing yourself the 6 odd mountain stages. I reckon both are tough in their own right.

Ok this was tongue in cheek but to be honest I think it seems to us that it is easy hanging in the peloton but that peloton maintains I really high speed. I reckon it is tough just trying to hang there

The first 80kms of an epic stage are the stage....

The first 80km of a TDF stage is maybe half way, at double the speed.

Either way, these athletes ride on the limit of there personal capabilities, weather its at 90% for 80k

Or 70% for 160km.

Both require an honest amount of dedication and conditioning to reach a competent level.

A bit like a road marathon versus a 21km trail run. I guess only really as tough as the said rider has trained/ prepared for. More time training - less tough racing.

I think we should ask Udo Bölts

He did what like 12/13 tdf and has done a lot of epics.[emoji6]

Udo Bolts has also done a few Ironmans.

Actually. . To settle this argument Sagan needs to ride it and then we'll know ???? we can start a campaign . . "Bring sagan to the Epic".. he can sommer team up with Nino.

Had a chat with Jacques on a ride once after he's first Grand tour(Spain).Told us that the pace was so crazy the whole time that they were worried about getting dropped if they had to go fetch bottles at the car.
