Omnico/fox is that the best you got?

My CTD evo shock had issues last year, was sent down to them, and couple of weeks later I got brand new CTD factory back. So I had some good service from them.

And some bad service, my fork had a knocking sound, was sent down, given a service which I had to pay for, and was returned with the same issue saying it was normal.

I have since put the FIT 4 cartridge into the EVO fork, and it's a much better fork now. Uses all travel with big hits, and the rebound actually works now, happy with how the fork behaves. Also fixed the knocking sound.

There is no way in hell a Fox Kashima fork with the FIT 4 cartridge is an average type fork. It should perform very well in most aspects, except in the stifness dept if it's a 32.

Hi Pinkey,

Who is the dude from Omnico that is in a position to help, when all else fails?

I am looking for a person to contact, if I do not get any joy in the next few days. It is concerning a delay of nine months to replace a Cannondale road frame.

Thanks

Sarge

Hi Brain ( sorry couldn't resist) I emailed a guy called Vincent Stevens. Will pm you his details .

that every single setting I tried was wrong ? And every single air pressure setting for that case to?

Something that the fork can't deliver like what ? Small bump compliance over corrugation so your arms don't go numb . Or ? Am intrigued.

Do you believe it's just an average fork ? Strange that you would come to that conclusion do you own one? And what dictates average ?

"Throwing my toys out the cot' I won't be happy for sure ,but by the sounds of it it wouldn't bother you .

It's not like I haven't been patient and tried to sort it,after all said and done all I want is a fork that performs ,works as fox say it does. That's all. No freebies or 5 min of fame ,just a fork that functions .

I think if you are in your head comparing the 32 to a pike it will feel average. Don't expect trail bike small bump compliance and performance put of an xc fork.

I actually do own a 32, a 2016 one with fit4 damper. It is streets ahead of the 2 Sids (IMO Average) and the Reba (better than Sid) that I own. It took me about 3 months to get it dialled in to my liking. And I am running it way softer than their recommendations.

I picked up an issue with my 32 on Friday, I phoned Bradley, had a long chat about my issue, and he asked me to send it in so that he can see if it is a warranty issue. I will do so after the Arabella race. They are not hard to get hold of and are not unreasonable.

Like I said, I really hope they find something genuinely wrong with your fork and fix/replace it so that you can experience what I am on my 32.

I just really hope you are not expecting multicoloured unicorn poop out of a ice cream machine because a review said the ice cream will taste like unicorn poop. Because then you will be disappointed again. (and unfairly so)

I suspect that it very much depends who you deal with at Omnico (and I cannot be classified historically as a fan) - but I am open to this being proved either way.

My last dealing with Omnico was however brilliant - called them up - asked for the stages guy, and he was both friendly and helpful (and gave me a couple of things to do to see if the resolved the issue on the pm) - and sent (couriered - free of charge) new seals and covers up - called on tuesday and my lbs had them on thursday.

So - next step is to sent the pm back for a check (given that the issue was not resolved) - and we will see how they perform, but so far, so good.

Good luck to you on this.....

let me tell you about my stages experience and omnico...

A week before argus...power meter breaks (the actual housing where the tabs from the cover lock onto broke completely)...i contact stages and send them pics. They say definitely a warrantee issue (it was a version1 of the power meter).....i should send off to local agent (omnico) and theyll sort out.

i contact shop i bought it from...take it in...and they say they'll drop off with omnico.

I then phone omnico...who say its a warranty replacement......and i get asked what model it is....tell them its a 172.5mm durace ace 9000...... Ummmmmmm we dont have stock of that (WTF).....will be here in 2 weeks (a standard time frame from other complaints i've heard)

7 weeks later!!!!

shop lets me know new power meter finally here.....apparently omnico sent the broken meter back to stages...who said replace it (warranty(....now fine..i can understand sending it off.......but 7 weeks?

Somehow I doubt they sent it all the way to the USA to be checked - photos - yes...

Fortunately I do have other cranks - so waiting a bit is not an issue for me - provided I am kept in the loop as to what's happening.

Stages is very popular. I ordered one week before argus and it arrived last week. Sometimes you just have to wait till the distributor has filled a container or airfreight pallet

It doesn't sound like you are overly happy with your fork. No superlatives after 3 months of dialing it in,bar it's streets ahead .

I have had 3 kashima factory series fox forks and one thing they all were regardless of the travel was smooth with plenty feel.

And for the record yes had a 160 pike ,still have 140 mrp stage. So am quite confident in my ability to differentiate the feel between forks.

Although people have slagged the older fox forks I have never really had an issue with them. Hence why I have owned a fair few.

It almost seems as if your are telling me to expect the worst as if it doesn't get any better. So your cup is generally half empty?

In all seriousness, they just need to take a gander through this thread.

It might send them a bit of a wake up call. What with so many people deciding against a product that they supply solely because they are concerned about backup.
