Got my batch yesterday and very happy wit the early start. 6:27 am. Just debating if I should do it on mountain bike this year or on my single speed. Time to have a bit of fun in the race and enjoy it. Stop for tequila and beer.

Buddies are starting in batch TT so not sure if I should join them for a relaxing ride.

I am really thankful that they have reseeding options in place. Because I had not done any seeding races, I was initially seeded in PP????????. Just got confirmation that I am reseeded and will be starting in group B???? Thankfully I had proof of my Jock results. Thanks to the reseeding team????????????????

Now that the route is skipping the loop through town, it seems like we are going straight down the M1 up to Carr Street, and then doing a U-turn to go into Newtown. It will be extremely interesting taking that off-ramp "from the wrong side"

It's not the first time this has been mentioned, and also not the first time the route comes this way.

Technically its an on-ramp. But its been done before, Nothing to worry about. You have a nice wide road to turn off from. One of the only times in the race you will use your brakes.

To confirm: we are coming from the north, and then turning off onto and on-ramp... the on ramp we used to use to exit the highway on the old route?

We are going to go left here?

Most groups struggle to hold their lines going left at Sandton Clinic and squeeze the inside line cyclists, so this will be extremely interesting...

Yip spot on. Just try make sure you as far to the front of the group as possible if you in a group that doesn't ride so well. I will be hanging onto the back of VA and most of the time we can ride ok.....

I'm not to concerned about this. What keeps me awake at night is that turn into kyalami. we will be coming down that hill with speeds at about 70km plus.
