Alas a new fork, cannot be repaired. To replace will cost almost as much as a new fork.

Did the seller advise the state of the fork? If not then I would request my money back or money enough to cover for a replacement fork.

I was given a fork with similar wear pattern two years ago. I installed Enduro seals and it works perfectly to this day, no leaking. I have also noticed absolutely no difference in performance to any of my other forks.

Just ride the damn thing.

Good luck and happy cycling.

It may look knackered but it is works fine and doesn't let the oil out use it until it dies.

Repair bill will be crippling!

Im with Eldron, use it till it dies. This will give you time to save up for a new one.

That wear pattern is matched inside by corresponding wear of the bushings. Both stanchion and bushings must be replaced to repair it and it may not be economically viable. Keep riding and keep an eye out for a decent used replacement.

As a previous user said - do change the wipers and foam rings! This is a relatively cheap way to extend what life that fork has left.

Eish, not exactly what i was hoping to hear, but thanx for the feedback!!

Will i be able to order new bushings and seals and replace them myself or are special tools needed?

To do the lowers service which includes seals, foam rings and fork oil for lubricating stanchions .... and maybe a new crush washer or two is quite easy. You can buy the parts at your LBS or order online and download the manual. Be careful on your choice of fork oil and the volume. Generally, different oils are used to lube stanchions than those used for dampers. Fox has a chart you can download. Personally, if compatible, I would use Fox Gold, specifically made for lubing lowers and not damping. You'll only need 30ml or so per side and fork oil is usually sold by the litre so you may be able to make a deal with the LBS for a smaller amount .

To replace the stanchions and fork bushings is a bit more complex. Better to send it to a specialist for this so you'll be sure its done right. The cost may not be worthwhile so get quotes before you commit.

I just had to replace a Stanchion and came to the conclusion I could have bought a good second hand fork for the price of all the repairs. Dont do it.

Ride till it breaks completely - koop nuwe een.

Problem solved.

Make use of Brunox Stanchion oil. Should help in prolonging the life of that fork

Please dont!!

Throw that sh*t in the bin!!

I will post some photos of how that sh*t stuffs up your foamrings.  It becomes a black sticky dirt magnet mess!

Rather have your fork serviced on a regular basis, which will mean clean oil, clean oil in rebound and clean dustwipers and foamrings.

You dont lube your chain with Q20, do you?

Interesting. Are you referring to the lube or the Fork Lube?
