I felt so Guilty for not commuting this morning, and don't want to cheat after work, so i will now take my lunch go home fetch my bike and commute to work... :w00t:

I had to bring the car today as have meetings but managed a 44km ride before work that Strava acknowledged as "Challenge Completed:  Global Bike to Work Day"  Does this count?

Strava seems to think so - looking at the recorded rides, there are quite a few that looks like morning rides rather than commutes.

Edit: Except, of course, if all those are home-offices :)

Talk about a short working day if you can do this... ;)

I have also earned a similar title here in a country where commuting to work on bicycle is not odd.  But most here cycle a few odd kilometers to work.  These was one crazy bugger who commutes 20 km but I have now taken over the title from him.

I commute to work every day. It's slightly downhill but almost flat. If I pedal 10 strokes it takes me about 45 seconds.

Some days I just try and maintain flow on the pavements to maintain momentum on my trail bike. Usually about a minute.

The ride home is much tougher though. Nearly 1:30 of constant easy pedaling.

I thought about your comment and concluded that you're actually being lazy :whistling:

You'll get a lot more exercise by walking to work

One of our members wanted to ride to work today but his wife wouldn't let him ride his bike in the house!

Like seriously, WTF?

I'm sure you've always checked the leaders for all the challenges and some guys that somehow manage to log like a 500km ride a day or climb 10000m everyday.

It's called forgetting to turn Strava off before driving or FLYING to Jo'burg!  It's happened before!

Hadn't done the commute in a while and decided to use the old Peugeot Rapport and try out the panniers I bought (on special) from Sportmans a couple of years back already. Panniers worked great and the Peugeot was quite a surprise. Unfortunately another surprise waited at work as somebody (probably as a cost saving initiative) had turned-off the hot water in the showers. Not even a quick cold shower could dampen the spirits though and I see I ended in the top 10 000 out of 144 000 participants - a top 10 finish now that's new!
