Anatomic tunnel was also fantastic Andrew! The Christmas tree lights!

We did camp at the Anatomic water hole for a while. My son loves lemon creams!!!

Well done!

Awesome man... glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah, seems the tunnel lighting worked way better this year - sometimes the far simpler idea works a whole lot better

Everyone I chatted to at the finish only had good things to say, they enjoyed the experience/adventure. They did all complain about the Koppies at the end of the race must  have hurt the legs.

You can ride the Spruit every weekend but the rest of the route is closed off.

Seems like they listened to all the feedback from the 1st event and did something about it.

I must say a massive WELL DONE to JUMA. THis year was a massive improvement on almost every level.... The only thing I hated was the climbs that were all saved for the end...Pretty damn brutal when you been cramping since 38km. But still loved it!! And I will be back! It was tough as hell and that just made finishing an even greater accomplishment.

Lets hope we get to ride down those big hills next year instead of up! Well done to all who finished! specially all of you fellow crampers i met along the way!

Also had a few A-holes overtaking in the storm drains, but karma was swift and hilarious...what a slide out, i thought the guy was going to do a full 360 before slamming! but he got away with only a severely bruised ego...Guess i laughed a little too hard!

Was a really great race yesterday, thoroughly enjoyed it. Here were my favourite things in no specific order.

  1. Was nice to be able to have an event so close by that I could ride to the event and back, managed to clock about 66km's yesterday in total. Was also nice to see so many guys for the Melville/Auckland Park area riding to the start.
  2. The bridge over Jan Smuts, especially with the speed we got coming down from Forest Town.
  3. The halfway water point, so much lekkers. The choc-chip cookies were the BEST!
  4. The looooong tunnel was so much fun.
  5. Hardly any bottle necks (started in F Batch)

Well done to Hollard and all the sponsors and people involved. Hope to be back next year.

Much better than 2 years ago. Only complaint was the plastic covering on the Killarney golf course grass after the yellow bridge where I wiped out and watched V12 wipe out and take me out again. No damage done and got a free beer afterwards. I should have taken a light, they did warn us. Tunnel was visible but not lit up.

Will definitely be back.

I rode my first Juma from C batch and had an absolute jol.  Encountered almost no bottlenecks and only had one swim, at Parkview golf course, cos i was being dof.

Great vibe, lekker people riding and along the route, well marked, friendly marshals, properly challenging and scary in the tunnels.

The expressions of the Parkview golfers staring down at 100s of MTBers in the river were PRICELESS - you cannot convey the "WTF?" in their faces.

Thanks to JUMA & all involved for an awesome race - i will DEFINITELY be back next year.

Great event, I enjoyed the fact that it was challenging and the long tunnel was definitely my favorite.

Being 1.92m I struggled to clear some of the low bridges / pipes, a dropper post would definitely have helped.

Oh and can I just say cramps! haha, started hitting me hard after about 32km's in.

Will be back in 2017!

The race was well organised so no complaints there. Good start area, no bottlenecks, interesting route and great finish zone. Big up to the Anatomic water point. Now that's how its done and to the tech zone there which was most friendly and helpful. Whacked myself properly on a hidden pipe in one of the tunnels but no harm done, thanks goodness for decent helmets......BUT.......I don't think I will go back. Some of the areas were disgusting and yes, its the reality of JHB but for a few hundred bucks I don't think riding a route where you get warned to be careful of the poo is very appealing......If some areas weren't so filthy and the danger of getting sick wasn't so prevalent it would be a great day out. Nice vibe by most of the riders out there......

That's a bit anal... one section near the motorway was filthy...  the chances of you getting sick are next to nothing .. LOL

Yes, the friendly poo emoji's... that was kind of weird but probably the organisers idea of injecting some humour.

I think your avatar should be used moving forward and I'm not taking the piss, I promise. I just think your avatar looks like a more suitable poo picture - a bit grumpy and not so happy as the ones we saw yesterday.

Kind of agree, but he's entitled to an opinion just like the rest of us... always room for improvement I say!

Was looking out for all the dangers he alluded to but couldn't find any...
