Was a lekker ride. Not used to riding on grass, I feel so flippen slow on it (and probably was). But had a blast.

Does anybody know where we can look at some of the pictures that was taken throughout the day? I can remember the website of the photographers....

Well organised, and I enjoyed the route.

Starting in X batch wasn't the best, but had a pretty good ride. Only one delay at a tunnel somewhere leaving a golf course.

My mate and I followed 2 locals along the spruit for the first 15 odd km's and had great fun with them leading us off the route over jumps, berms etc.

Maybe not the hardest MTB race one will ever do, but a pretty cool concept and definitely as they punted, an adventure ride.

Loved the ride! Although that Melville Koppies was just torture!!

Met a lot of fellow crampers on those last two climbs!! :D

Will be sure to get in some saddle time before next years race!

And as for the low pipes, you okes need 26ers, no issues for me :D

I really enjoyed it. Much better than 2014. Small batch starts were awesome. Maybe I am repeating what was said but the Braamfontein and Sand spruits are filthy with vagrants sewage and trash what a pity that it has to be like this. The bridge over Jan Smuts was super coming down at speed I really enjoyed that.

Going up the storm drains was fun and challenging with the low ceilings. Koppies at the end was a leg killer and thank goodness for the Anatomic water hole before it and the Red Bull water hole after it. Don't know if anyone found the plastic bridge over Emmarentia dam a wee bit bumpy? at least compared to 2014.

I didn't train enough but had a good ride and liked the bridge right at the end. Within my category I did ok enough- didn't realise I was such an old toppie

Grossly underestimated it, I must say! It broke me and my bike, but really enjoyed it.

I had to try and figure out (being tall) how the hell to ride through those small tunnels. I watched someone draped over his handlebars easily go through and thought I would give it a shot. Needless to say I smashed my pip on a low concrete pillar.

The race was well organised and brutal at the end.

To the dude who folded himself in half after the Conrad bridge drop off, hope you recovered. Stuck around for a bit and he seemed ok.

To the knobs at the unintended bottle neck (I am talking to you Santa cruz and your hipster skinny jeans wearing mate)  - EVERYONE wanted to ride and trying to skip the queue and then push in front of me going down the ramp... you're a fist class tjop.

Good final salute on my bike. Now to invest in another.

Thank you JUMA and looking forward to seeing the photos!

What happened to your bike and was the finale in style?

What happened to your bike and was the finale in style?

It's my beloved Silverback. Been with me through many races, but I think it had had enough on the race. Gear and chain jammed so could not pedal properly in the end and the cogs are worn, so the chain kept slipping gears. It made it to the end albeit with a wobble and a constant squeak. Made it in in style!

Now the next problem is getting it repaired enough to do a 30km Duathlon  on Saturday

We had a number of guys stop at the shop for punctures, sealant, broken chains, gears etc. Also a couple of collar bones which we didn't repair... :P

Thata early in the race?? That is quite sad coz everything up to The Trailhead was easy going...

I wanted to stop in for coffee but I had barely warmed up by the time we passed there... Hopefully next year will have the shop at a better point along the route so we can enjoy the awesome coffee!

Yep. Thanks for a lekker ride![/quote

Likewise, good to ride with other single speeders.

More races should have a single speed class, with beers for SS podium. Come on USN, Nissan Trailseeker and Ashburton series...
