Sticky grips...

Not the inside, but on top! Got some ergon grips that have seen some miles but still damn comfy. The rubber started collecting black grime, I tried turps to rub it off, but whilst it looked better it just moved the gunk around.

 

Suggestions?

Is it collected gunk or the rubber that is actually deteriorating? My guess it is the rubber's top layer going all gooey on you from ozone or sweat etc if you ride without gloves. I've had similar issues with rubber before and paraffin worked to some degree on some types of rubber but perhaps new grips are in order.

I always use clean green and a lot of scrubbing with a coarse cloth, obviously not to an extent to damage the grip so be careful with how hard you scrub it.

ja, think that's probably it...i've tried a few, and for looooong distance, these work best for me.

Common problem which they refuse to acknowledge. Still my grip of choice. Get them covered in leather. To match your Brooks;)

I probably should have mentioned that I use bar ends first.

 

Anyway picked up some spaz BG thing that hopefully will do the trick
