And we had no TV signal due to a thunderstorm! Dammit!

Well my predicament will cheer up Gen - who thinks I have it far too cushy over here . . . .

What a beautifully timed ride up to the finish line by Froome. He had the presence of mind to keep his legs spinning at a sustainable rate on the lower part of the climb while everyone else attacked each other and then burnt out knowing that he would catch them again and then when everyone else had all but run of steam he showed his hand and dropped the rest (except for Richie) of them.

I kept thinking to myself every time the commentator said he was going backwards that he was letting it happen on purpose and allowing the others to soften themselves up.

Chris is looking in good form.

1. Young Quintana was looking good at one stage, but youthful exuberance/inexperience caused him to spend all his pennies at once and so he ended up 2 minutes down instead.

2. Aru and Pinot came in at 2 minutes too. Well off the pace. (Correction: Pinot came in 2:30 off the pace).

3. Aru might have had an off day or just keeping his powder dry for now. We don't know yet. But either way, if I were him I'd be feeling pretty confident going in to the TDF. Besides the form he showed a couple of days ago, he's got two super powerful lieutenants riding for him in July: Nibali and Diego Rosa. Rosa is having a stormer at the moment (7th on GC).

4. A good day for young Louis, finishing in 9th and really just a handful of seconds off the pace. Looks like he's on track with his progress for the TDF, great to see.

5. Froome & Port both looking very, very good for the TDF right now. But AC will counter in the next couple of days for sure.

6. As expected the Tinkoff boys are showing the effects of having to defend the yellow jersey from day 1. They must be on their knees now. And 2 big day still to come. AC will have to do it all on his own in the coming days - his guys are all used up.

Interesting, is Danny Martino the GC hope for Ettix

Good effort today

That rumour has been coming along for a while

The Skyborgs are a strong outfit hey

Landa's surge was crucial in the whole finalè

I reckon Aru is going for another stage win

Watched the clip posted on this thread. No wonder I couldn't stay with Froome when he came past me at the reserve. He is looking wicked.

Will still have some signal tomorrow so keep

These great reports coming.

27" behind, steak for dinner tonight  :whistling:

Contador looked quite sad crossing the line, even felt a bit sorry for him

Froome must have been working on his accelerations.
