ROUTE DESCRIPTION

The 70 km route is aimed at fit, experienced cyclists and will take you over the tough and technical climb over Groenlandberg. Seeding requirements will apply to the 70 km route, with riders needing a PPA seeding of MA-MC. If you have a lower PPA seeding and wish to enter the 70 km route, please send us an email (info@pedalpower.org.za) with your motivation and some event results we can look at, and we’ll gladly look at your seeding.

The 45 km and 70 km routes will both be seeding events for the 2016 Wines2Whales.

The 15 km will be untimed. This route is roughly a “figure of 8” which passes the start/finish and participants can decide to do one loop only (roughly 8km), or both sections.

Last year i did the 47km. The wind was terrible!!

My same thought of last years event. Saw a few guys that couldn't ride because the wind was blowing them over. Luckily im a big fella so the wind couldn't lift me.

Want to do the 75 but seeded MD cos I never ride a PPA MTB event. Can you fix this?

I'm k&k fast

easy to fix....there are a couple of PPA mtb events lined up during the months leading up to this event. I suggest u do some and up your seeding... :whistling:

Firstly, it clearly says just email the lady with your reason why you could ride the 70km if you are not seeded accordingly

Secondly, the fees are higher as this is a SA seeding race for W2W and the likes.

Always more expensive to due the seeding

I hear you, but why should it be more expensive because it is a seeding race?

What do they do differently to a non seeding race?

Verduidelik daardie een vir my.....  :whistling:

Can't wait!

Whoever hasn't climbed Groenlandberg before look forward to a very deep visit in the pain cave  :)) One of the toughest climbs around. It is not the elevation gain but the terrain you are faced with. Awesome!

And the single track is legendary anyway!

I don't have a straight correct answer for you, but they are always more expensive

Thats all I have noted especially  when its seeding on a national basis

Most probably the admin etc that goes into seeding everyone and timing etc.

Think Wannabe is hitting the nail on the head for that one.

They use the same racetec timing system they use for every other PPA race, forwarding an email to SAseeding with the results on shouldn't cost a cent extra....

Me thinks the big entry fee is because they can - thinks the race sell out every year, so if you want to do it stop complaining and enter...
