I'm gonna give this 8/10. I absolutely loved the route and the wind helped a lot to set some new PRs. Thanks to all the friendly faces at the venue and water points, which were very well stocked. For all those that quibbled about the price, this was actually worth double what you paid for IMHO.

The only reason this is not 10/10 is because of the utterly rubbish info on the webiste. Honestly a tiny little JPEG is useless, even more so when coupled with wrong info. Start time 5:45am? 65KM? 1700m climbing? More like 6:00am, 72KM and 2000m climbing.

Not sure how I'm going to manage the Dirtopia 10K Halloween trail run at Muratie on these legs tonight...

From now on I am going to insist on GPX route files for event.

don't know if you would have had many smiley faces on the 65 km (71km) mtb race - it was a suffer fest with 2030m climbing. Wind blew us all over the place and trying to stay on the singletrack on parts of the contermans descent was a challenge.

I'm broken

ps- what was the deal with the bog of cow poo the route went through?

See dale, roadies would be a better subject to take photos of, they were covered in poo

Oh.... totally forgot the MTB was going thought there. Does this mean Conti's is torn apart and blown out after the event? Was planning on doing a few laps there tomorrow.

Off the topic, just read the article on the store manager of giant durbanville in icu having been knocked by a motorist,

so on our way from the race coming down durban road just before PP smit what looked to be a motorcyclist knocked off his bike,it looked like his helmet came off.

Does anyone have details we were in the far left and it was bumper traffic just after 10:20am.A few other motorist had stopped to assist him and gathered he was in good care.

shouldn't be - they avoided cheeky corners and most of the blue descent is pretty robust. Trail z was also already a bit washed out so probably not much worse for the event.
