I have shimano r171 and they have been amazing . Good fit , comfortable and they look really good. Think they can be had for around 2500 if you look around

Saw some Shimano today will have a look.

Are they carbon sole?

Bont are the business. As DragoRosso said.  I have the vapour plus. Have an almost square front which matches most feet better than a pointy toe. The heat moulding at 70 degrees for 20 minutes is just so simple.

Fizik road range look good too, also a bit wider than most Italian shoes.

Also using the r171 and they are good. Nice fit and very comfortable on long rides.

Had a look at Bont online....first thought they were Bontrager...

Who are the stockists of Bont in JHB area?

Are you a Triathlete?

Edit: For Sidi have a look here: http://www.sidionline.co.za/road/ depending on size and colour you might get lucky with a set of Ergo 3's. Otherwise I would look at the new Sidi Levels over the T3's as those are for Tri.

Louis Garneau make some good shoes but Sidi are in a different league. I am on my 4th pair of sidi's and did a lot of research before buying my latest set, the major advantage they have is their replaceable parts and robust construction that lasts for ever. All my shoes are still functional but some have taken huge abuse from multiple big crashes and tar skiing sessions.

seems their site is broken:

Warning: Illegal string offset 'general' in C:\domains\precision_cycles\app\Tygh\Settings.php on line 620 Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in C:\domains\precision_cycles\app\Tygh\Settings.php on line 620

And they host on windows, in a badly placed position nogal!!

Nothing dodgy about the site. The site belongs to ASG who are the SA distributors for Sidi

I mailed Bont....unfortunately they have little stock and won't be making any more so that means I need to strike that one from the list.

Seems the Sidi T3 is a Tri shoe? Is there any issue using them as a normal Roadie?

Cycle Lab having a sale on the 26th. You might want to look to see what shoes are on sale http://cyclelab.com/

Yeah saw that but they have very little in stock...apparently they had a special recently...I would like to get for the weekend as that is hopefully when I get my rebuilt bike back...
