Assics Running Shoe - recommendations

New Landy new life

I recently started running again towards Triathlon training  and wanted advice on which model of Assics would anyone recommend.

I have always had good life from Assics and this brand has caused the least discomfort so I want to stick with them.

Any good models for mostly tar and a little jeep track type terrain ?

Thanks

Do you know what your running style is? pronation, supernation?  Might be worth going to a running shop and letting them advise which you are before you start asking for advice on which shoe.

Any suggestions on good running shops in Cape Town that have qualified sales people to advise which shoes to buy...

The Sweat Shop in Claremont was good when I was there but that was a few years back.

This exactly, the Kinseis and GT series I run in wouldnt suit most people due to them being for over pronation.

I need a stability shoe so generally Kayano for me. Price of them is through the roof these days though.

Shaper posted the right info, you need to analyse your particular running pattern and that will determine the shoe.

I see a listing for Gel-Noosa Tri 11 road running shoes for R1, 900 at sportsman's. Same shoe?

My style is very unique due to a weak hip on one side but it is improving the more I run but I eventually start limping after about 11km. (Pins in hip). I do have in steps and a 10mm spacer from a podiatrist to put inside my shoes.

Once you know which shoe to go for, you should head on over to Jordan (Access Park) and Footgear (also access park)

They generally have older model shoes for sale at pretty darn good prices. Haven't been there recently, but they had good stock levels last time I went.

Also - New Balance clearance store is also there.

I also run in asics.  bought a new pair of nimbus (18) this weekend, other pair now have 800km on the clock and still in good shape..  Cannot wait to have a run in them.
